Monday Preliminaries
Tuesday  Wake up, arrange your beddings, eat breakfast and get ready for our class!
 Have a short exercise / bonding with family.
8:20-10:00 Introduction (What I need to know)
 At the beginning of the lesson, orient the learner that the concept of the topic is
to help him/her identify the English equivalent of words related to self, family,
school, community and concepts in the Mother Tongue or in Filipino.
 After a short discussion, give the module to your child/learner and let him/ her
ready the separate answer sheet/ notebook for the succeeding activities.
Pre assessment (What I know)
 Allow the learner to sing the English ABC song and the Filipino version of the
song to set his/her mood to learn this module. Tell him/her that English words
can be translated into Filipino words and vice versa.
 Let the learner reads the sentences on pages 2-4 and make him/ her understand
the uses and the meanings of these sentences on page 5.
Remember: You may guide your child in reading the concepts on these pages if
he/ she is not yet an independent reader. Ask him/ her the questions on page 5
to know his/ her feelings.
PROCEDURES
1. Review/Motivations (What’s In)
 On this part, you may ask your child to give some English words with Filipino
words translation that he/ she already knew. You can give the English word and
let your child gives the Filipino translation or vice versa.
 Explain to the learner that Languages like Filipino and English are used for
communication. There will be successful communication among people if they
use words properly. See page 6.
Remember: Guide your child to read the ideas on this page and make him/ her
understand the lesson. You can read these ideas for him/ her if he/she is not yet
an independent reader.
2. Initial Activity/Discovery (What’s New)
 Let the learner read the words related to self, family, school, community and
concepts such as the names for shapes and numbers.
 Let the learner write the equivalent Mother Tongue or Filipino words of the given
English words on page 7.
Remember: Read the directions carefully and let your child work on his/ her
own.
3. Discussion of the Topic (What is it)
 Let your child study the pictures shown on page 7-9 and then let him/ her write
the English and Filipino words of these pictures.
Remember: You can assist your child in doing his/ her work. Let him/ her
understand the directions carefully before writing the final answers in the
notebook/ answer sheet.
4. Enrichment Activities (What’s More)
 This part of module shows the Guided and Independent activities that will
measure the mastery of learning of your child about the English and the Filipino
translation of the given words.
 Let the learner gives the Filipino/Mother tongue words of the given English
words. Answer pages 7-16
Remember: You can guide your child in answering the Guided activities, but let
him/her answer on his/ her own in the Independent activities. Make sure that
your child understands the directions very well before he/ she writes the answers
in the notebook.
5. Generalization (What I Have Learned)
 On this part, the learner must give his/ her own understanding about the lesson
on English words with the equivalent Filipino/ Mother tongue words before he/
she study the concepts given on page 16.
6. Application (What I Can Do)
 Let your child go to your neighbors to interview a family member.
 Let the learner asks a family member to give examples of words that are related
to self, family, school, community and concepts such as names for shapes and
numbers in both English and Filipino. See page 17.
Remember: You can guide the learner in doing this task and make him/ her
enjoy the interview to get the English and Filipino words he/ she is asked to
write. Guide your child to write the answers in the notebook/ answer sheet.
7. Assessment (Post assessment)
 Let the learner make some drawings about his/ her experiences as a Grade 2
pupil.
 Let your child writes words that are related to self, family, school, community in
both English and Mother tongue. Do page 17.
Remember: Let your child understands the directions and works on his/ her
own.
8. Additional Activities
 To engage the learner in more activities, let him/ her answer page 18.
 Let the learner uses words that are related to self, family, school, community
and concepts to name the given pictures on this page.
Remember: Give encouraging words to your child when he/ she is not showing
interest in answering. Since this page asks your child to write words in English
and in Filipino, let him/ her think several times to get the correct answers.
 At the end of this module, congratulate your child for all his/ her works, so that
he/ she will be motivated in taking another task in the next module.

The parent or guardian shall return this module to the teacher/adviser at the given schedule
and given venue.
