Application Development – JavaFX

Tutorial 1

1. Use the Scene-Builder’s Drag and Drop option and the toolkit to recreate the following
user interface in the fxml file.

2. Rename fxml to login.fxml. (Make sure to use Refactor option).

3. Add appropriate colors and styling to the javaFX components to obtain a better look and
feel.

4. Create a new fxml file in the same project and name it signup.fxml. Design a signup form
of your choice to obtain the following information from the user.

Personal Details
a. First Name
b. Last Name
c. Age
d. Birthday
e. Gender
f. Civil Status
g. Country
Contact Details
h. Email
i. Mobile
Login Details
j. Username
k. Password
l. Confirm Password

5. Use appropriate controls for the fields.

6. Set the stage title to ‘Signup’.

7. Add two buttons named ‘Submit and ‘Clear’.

8. Add appropriate colors and Styling.

Saving your work

• Create a Google Drive folder named JavaFX Application Development in your IIT Google
Drive.
• Create folders to save weekly tutorials. Ex: ‘Week 01’ for today’s tutorial
• Upload your project to this week’s folder to access later.
