Using SPC for MS Excel v2.

c Control Charts

You are tracking the number of OSHA recordable injuries per month in a plant, and you
want to use a c chart to monitor the safety performance over time. You have historical
data for the past two years. The steps below demonstrate how to construct and update a c
control chart using SPC for MS Excel v2.0.

Step 1: Enter the data into an Excel spreadsheet.

Step 2: Highlight the month numbers (shown in blue above) and select the attribute
control chart icon on the SPC toolbar (installed when you install SPC for MS Excel v2.0).
Step 3: You will get the dialog box shown below. Fill in the chart name and other
information in the dialog box.

Step 4: Click OK and the chart below is generated.

The above chart can be updated easily.

Step 1: Enter the new data into the spreadsheet as shown below.

Step 2: Select the Update icon from the SPC toolbar.

Step 3: Select the name of the chart from the drop down list that appears and select OK.

The chart is then updated automatically as shown below.
