Level Control Pushbutton Calibration

The CS001 RF Capacitance Liquid Level Transmitter requires calibration with a 300Ω load resistor for 4-20 mA outputs, necessitating four calibrations if media or level ranges change. Installation should ensure the sensor is free from obstructions and turbulence, with periodic maintenance to check for contamination. Key specifications include a range of 5” to 120”, accuracy of ± 1% of full span, and operating temperatures from -40º to 400º F.

Calibration Instructions

The CS001 will be manufactured and calibrated using a 300Ω load resistor for 4-20 mA to the media and level di-
RF Capacitance Liquid Level Transmitter mensions required by the customer. If the media or level range are changed four calibrations need to be performed:

(CS001 Series) Empty Tank Output with probe in free air, set “empty” output (4 mA or 0 VDC) by holding “MIN” button in and
adjusting output with repetitive pushes of the “F/UP” or “E/DN” button.

Installation & Maintenance Full Tank Output with probe in free air, set “full” output, (20 mA or 5/10 VDC) by holding “MAX” button in and
adjusting output with repetitive pushes of the “F/UP” or “E/DN” button.
General Information:
Empty Tank Reading with probe in empty tank (or free air), depress “MAX” and “MIN” buttons simultaneously
Sensor should be installed securely and clear of obstructions and then press “E/DN” for at least five (5) seconds. Output will go to 4 mA or 0 VDC.

Sensor should be mounted in an area of the tank free of excessive turbulence or direct Full Tank Reading with probe immersed to full level of the actual liquid, depress “MAX” and “MIN” buttons simul-
taneously and then press “F/UP” button for at least five (5) seconds. Output will go to 20 mA or 5/10 VDC
streams.

Operate only within listed electrical ratings.

: Maintenance

Periodically inspect the sensor probe to be sure it is not coated, clogged or contaminated by
any material or substance that would significantly change its dielectric characteristics.

Important Points

• Always operate within specified temperature and pressure ratings. Only use with liquids
compatible with the material of construction. (Consult factory for information).
• Factory or field calibration should be prescribed or performed as close to the actual op-
erating temperature and fluid conditions as possible.
• Make certain input voltage jumper is in the correct position, (see wiring diagram)
