Rationale: The Department of Education (DepEd) reminds all schools to observe and
celebrate the Filipino Values Month every month of November, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation
No. 479, s.1994 with the theme, “Magagandang Kaugaliang Pilipino: Isabuhay at Pagyamanin Tungo sa
Matiwasay at Maunlad na Kinabukasan.”. “This year’s them focuses on how Filipino values can be
strengthened and exercised in the life of each Filipino that can contribute to nation-building and
achievement of individual and national goal.
Thus, in line with the statement above, Gumalang Elementary School teachers headed by the
school head enjoins the whole month celebration by observing the month of November as Filipino
Values Month. Teachers worked collaboratively to conduct activities to celebrate the National
Observance of Filipino Values Month both in the school and district level. These are the following
activities conducted during the whole month celebration: 1. On-the Spot Poster Making 2. Tagis Talino
3. Duet- Minus One 4. Essay Writing 5. Folk Dance
Through the varied activities for the whole month, students will be
able to realize the importance of patriotism and integrate Filipino Values in their
daily life.
This school year's activities are still meaningful, simple, and doable, and are not limited to
contests or competitions only but also showcase exhibits, talents, and innovation-acting out alternative
interventions that exemplify positive Filipino Values and welfare of the students.
Objectives:
1. To help the learners understand the value of preserving Filipino Values.
2. To develop sportsmanship among competitors.
