TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
Date : January 2006 Information sheet N° 2
Purbinder MP 830 / 730
Description
Purbinder MP830 / MP730 is a two component solvent free polyurethane adhesive being processed at
40°C.
Typical uses
Purbinder MP830 / MP730 is suitable for the lamination of printed /unprinted, and metallized
structures.
Various additives such as antifogging or antistatic and slip additives compounded in the film influence
the laminate performance, the heat seal capability, the friction coefficient and the heat resistance.
There is also a potential risk of monomer migration with white pigmented PE, LTS films, PE films
containing EVA copolymers which can interfere with sealing properties.
Preliminary tests before production are recommended.

. The stability (pot life) of Purbinder MP830 / MP730 on coating unit is between 20 and 30 mn.
Health and Safety
As the adhesive contains di-isocyanates, it is preferable to avoid contact with the skin and with food
products. This precaution only applies to non polymerised adhesive, that is, in its delivered state.
Purbinder MP830 / MP730 contains more than 2% monomeric MDI. The TLV limits for monomeric
isocyanates will not be reached with normal air circulation conditions.
Before using Purbinder MP830 / MP730 it is advisable to read the material safety data sheet carefully.
Prior tests are advised (or recommended) for any industrial use. Moreover, the recommendations for implementation should be followed.
It is recommended to follow our precautionary measures listed in the specification sheets.

Precautions
Polyolefin ( polyethylene, polypropylene or ionomer films ) must be treated by corona discharge or
equivalent.
Due to the complexity of the ink formulation, it is recommended that preliminary tests are run to
check the compatibility of the adhesive with a specific ink.
Hydroxyl containing solvents such as alcohol, interfere with the cross linking of Purbinder MP830 /
MP730. Ensure alcohol is completely removed from coating equipment before use.
Alcohol is suitable for units equipped with rubber rolls. For steel rolls use alternative solvents such as
ethyl acetate or MEK (Methyl Ethyl Keton).
Curing time
The reels should be stored on their end at a temperature of 20°C as a minimum. After processing
laminate rolls should be stored for a minimum of period of 24 hours before slitting and rewinding and
7 days before processing on packing machine.
Storage
Purbinder MP830 can be kept unopened for 6 months and Purbinder MP730 for 12 months at a
temperature of between 5 and 30°C. Please store in a dry, clean place. Partially used drums should be
closed again tightly and finished as quickly as possible
Prior tests are advised (or recommended) for any industrial use. Moreover, the recommendations for implementation should be followed.
It is recommended to follow our precautionary measures listed in the specification sheets.
