BUSHENYI DISTRICT SERVICE COMMISSION

EXTERNAL ADVART NO. 1/2025


Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill vacancies that exist in
Bushenyi District local Government in the positions declared below. Applicants should fill
PSC form 3 (Revised 2008) and ESC form 3 (Revised 1998) for teachers only in triplicate one
filled in own handwriting with coloured passport size photographs attached to each form and
addressed to the secretary District service commission, to be received not later than 5:00pm
of 15th August 2025. Due to long distances of some applicants, they are encouraged to

Applicants must attach scanned photocopies of certified academic certificates and


transcripts/results slips, copies of school /institutional identity cards and any other relevant
appointment letters. Applicants are advised to apply for not more than two (02) positions and
those already in government service should route their applications through their respective
responsible officers who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay. Details of the

PLEASE NOTE: APPOINTMENT INTO THE CIVIL SERVICE IS FREE AND
BUSHENYI DISTRICT SERVICE COMMISSION DOES NOT CHARGE MONEY
DURING RECRUITMENT. Any form of conversing for support during the process will
lead to automatic disqualification. Applicants who do not hear from us after interviews should
consider themselves unsuccessful.

Job Title: Assistant District Health Officer (Environmental Health).


Reports to: District Health Officer.
Job purpose: To assist the DHO in ensuring efficient, effective and affordable delivering of
environmental health services for the well being of the population of the district.

Personal specifications: An Honors Bachelors degree in environmental Health science from


a recognized university /institution.
- Post graduate Diploma in Health sciences management or related management
qualifications from a recognized institution.
Job title: Assistant District Health Officer (Maternal child Health)
Report to: To district Health officer
Job Purpose: To assist DHO in ensuring efficient, effective and affordable delivery of
maternal child health and nursing services.
Personal Specification.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Nursing or Bachelors of public Health nursing from a
recognised institution with post graduate Diploma in Health services management.
Competences: Coaching and mentoring, Accountability, report writing

Job title: Anaesthesia officer.


Report to: Senior medical officer.

Job purpose: To administer anaesthesia and manage patients in the theatre.
Qualifications: Must have a diploma in clinical medicine, nursing or midwifery with a
diploma in anaesthesia from a recognized institution.
Competences: Guidance and counseling, ethics and integrity

Job title: Public Health Nurses.


Reports to: Senior public health Nurse.
Job purpose: To implement primary Health care activities in the District.
Qualifications: Must have a diploma in public Health or its equivalent from a recognized
institution.

Job Title: Dispenser (Health center Iv)


Report to: Senior Medical center.
Job purpose: To manage the safe storage, dispense and advise patients on proper use and
storage of medicines.
Qualifications: Must have a diploma in pharmacy or its equivalent from a recognized
institution.
Competences: Information management, ethics and integrity concern for quality and
standards.
Job title: Ophthalmic clinical officer
Reports to: Senior ophthalmic clinical officer/senior medical officer.
Job purpose: To diagnose, treat and manage patients with eye conditions
Key functions: Referring complicating eye conditions to senior ophthalmic clinical officer.
Qualifications: Must be aclinical officer or Registered nurse/midwife.

Job Title: Laboratory Technicians


Reports to: Senior laboratory technicians
Job purpose: To conduct generalized laboratory investigations for disease diagnosis
treatment, prevention and control.
Competences: Concern for quality and standards, communication & time management

Job Title: Theater assistants.


Reports to: Nursing officer in charge of theatre
Job purpose: To prepare the theatre for surgical operations and ensure sterility of
instruments and other items needed for operation.
Key functions: Maintaining surgical instruments and equipments safe disposal of theatre
waste.

Job title: Anesthesia Assistant


Reports : Anaethetic officer
Job purpose: To assist administer anaesthesia and manage patients in the theatre.
Qualifications: Must have a certificate in anaesthesia from arecognised institutions.
Competencies: Concern for quality and standards of anaestheological work.

Job Title: Enrolled Nurses Reports to: Nursing officer.


Job purpose: To provide quality nursing services to patients and patiapate in implementing
public health interventions in the community
Qualifications: Must have enrolled nurse certificate or equivalent from a recognized
institution.
Job title: Enrolled midwives
Reports to: Nursing officer (Midwifery)
Job purpose: to provide day to day midwifery nursing care service to patients.
Key functions: Receiving patients, registering admissions, discharges and providing care
during labour with emphasis on keeping proper records, use of drugs and prevention of
complications to mother and baby.
Qualifications: Must have an enrolled midwifery certificate from a recognized institutions
and must be registered and licensed .

Job purpose: To support the implementation of forestry conservation programmes in the
district.

Job Title: District production and marketing officer.
Reports to: Chief Administrative officer.
Job purpose: To plan, organize, coordinate, advise, manage, supervise, quality assure and
monitor the programmes and activities of production
Qualifications: Honours Bachelor of science Degree in Agriculture, veterinary, Fisheries,
animal husbandry / production, botany and zoology, Biological sciences, Agriculture and
rural innovations and Agribusiness.
Job Title: Principal Fisheries officer.
Reports to: District production and marketing officer.
Job purpose: To plan organize, coordinate, manage and monitor the fisheries sub sector
programmes and activities of the district.
Key functions: Ensure control of fish diseases, aquatic weeds and pests.

Job title: Senior entomologist.


Reports to: Principal entomologist
Functions: Implement plans and programmes regarding entomology activities in the district.
Qualifications: Honors Bachelors of science degree in zoology with special option in applied
entomology and / applied parasitology.

Job title: Fisheries officer (Aquaculture)


Reports to: Senior Fisheries officer
Functions: Implement Aquaculture plans and programs in the district

Job Title: Veterinary Officer.


Reports to: Senior Veterinary officer.
Functions: Provide guidance on policy and planning in the animal sub sector in the sub

Job purpose: To direct, monitor and evaluate academic administration programs
Qualifications: Minimum of a diploma in primary Education or the equivalent of this from

Job purpose: To teach, examine and asses learners, progress on an going basis in order to
ensure functional literacy, numeracy and basic communication skills.

Qualification: Minimum of a grade III teaching certificate or the equivalent from recognized

Reports to: Town Council chairperson LC III
Job Purpose: To manage and coordinate implementation of National polices programmes
and council by-laws for the development and general welfare.
Job Title: Senior internal Auditor.
Reports to: Principle internal Auditor
Job purpose: To pre-audit payments to ensure compliance with accounting principles and
regulations and monitor and examine finance operations to ensure value of money.

Job title: Senior Treasure


Reports to: Principle treasurer
Job purpose: To provide routine finance management and accounting services in the urban
council.

Job Title: Senior commercial officer.


Reports to: District production and marketing officer
Job purpose: To oversee and guide the commercial, industrial and cooperatives activities in
the sub-sector for improved household in local government.
