VPLS MAC conflict problem

In case of SH bitstream, if the sub interface for the customer is disabled, before
we enable it.

1-Make sure the VPLS interconnection is active on ESP sheet.

2-and after we enable it, we issue command

#show l2-learnig mac-move-buffer extensive | no-more

, for 1-2 mins continuous after enabling the link to make sure that the same mac doesn’t
come from two different sources on the same instance like below.

In case of SH bitstream, if the sub interface for the customer is down we will
check the mac move action for that sub interface.

- When we execute the previous command when interface is down we will show the
action on cabin and for clear It we will use the below command.

OBURCTY1-R02J-C-EG> clear vpls mac-move-action interface [interface.sub].

- Then check the mac table and sub interface will be up .

• Some cases ESP vendor wants us to make termination to test

the connection from interconnection or from cabin side:
Termination on Interconnection
We have two types of termination:
1 – we can use other vlan for test
2 – ESP Vendor can define vlan from it range and we will configure it

1 - We will use for example vlan 1000 for test and here is the configuration:
ALMAZA-R10J-C-EG# set routing-instances Ahmed_Eldesouky instance-type virtual-router

{master}[edit]
ALMAZA-R10J-C-EG# set routing-instances Ahmed_Eldesouky interface ae8.1000

ALMAZA-R10J-C-EG# set interfaces ae8 unit 1000 vlan-id 1000

{master}[edit]
ALMAZA-R10J-C-EG# set interfaces ae8 unit 1000 family inet address
18.18.18.1/30

Configuration summary

ALMAZA-R10J-C-EG#show| compare [edit interfaces ae8]

+ unit 1000 {
+ vlan-id 1000;
+ family inet {
+ address 18.18.18.1/30;
+ }
+ }
[edit routing-instances]
+ Ahmed_Eldesouky {
+ instance-type virtual-router;
+ interface ae8.1000;
+ }
{master}[edit]

2 – if ESP define vlan from it Range here is the configuration:

For example they chose vlan 2500 and inner vlan is X outer vlan is Y :

ALMAZA-R10J-C-EG# set interfaces ae8 unit 2500 vlan-tags inner X outer

Y
{master}[edit]

Or you can split the range to two ranges and make second range has the
vlan which they determined and configure it such as firststep.

change the encapsulation:

SHGECB19-M01H-SHG-EG(config)#encapsulation 0/18/3 vpi 8 vci 88 type bridge llc
Changing encapsulation type may cause service interruption, are you sure to
make the operation? (y/n)[n]y
Set encapsulation type successfully

SHGECB19-M01H-SHG-EG(config)#undo mac-pool 1

Add the new MAC

SHGECB19-M01H-SHG-EG(config)#mac-pool xpoa 0001-0104-1000 1024

Return back the encapsulation of IPOA

Adding MAC pool

On ZTE cabin:
Conf t
mac pool 1 0000.0000.1111 10

On Huawei cabin:
We need to know first the connected router to that cabin and interface to follow the below
criteria.
For example:
Cabin BNH1CB4-M02H-KB-EG
Terminated to router BNHAEST-R06J-KB-EG interface ge-0/0/9

Then write the below command based on:

1. Router’s number.
2. Shelf’s number.
3. Number of interface on router

BNH1CB4-M02H-KB-EG(config)# mac-pool 1 0006-0009-2000 1024

#mac-pool 1 xpoa 0006-0009-2000 1024

1st octet:
00 → constant
06 → related to BNHAEST-R06J-KB-EG

2nd octet:
0 → constant
009 → related to interface number on router ge-0/0/9

3rd octet:
2 → related to BNH1CB4-M02H-KB-EG
000→ constant

Another example:

SHGECB19-M01H-SHG-EG ge-1/0/4 SHGEST-R01J-SHG-EG

So MAC will be 0001-0104-1000

SHGECB19-M01H-SHG-EG#mac-pool 1 xpoa 0001-0104-1000

NOTE: We should follow the above criteria to avoid any mac conflict between cabins.

Thank You.
