TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
SYNTHETIC CAMOUFLAGE NET
General Requirement
1. The Camouflage nets are required primarily for camouflaging Defence equipment and
vehicles by breaking their visible colour contrasts against the natural surroundings and
matching the infrared reflections of the nets with that of the natural surroundings. These shall
be suitable for operation within the effective IR range of 650 to 1500 nano meters.
General Features
2. Easy to roll, unroll, set up and dismantle.
3. The net should be strong enough to withstand rough physical handling in field
conditions.
4. The net should be fire resistance and should not deteriorate / decay due to extreme
atmospheric conditions.
5. There should be no fungus growth when the nets are constantly kept in moist and
damp conditions.
6. The nets should be treated for UV stabilizer. No change in the form of softening of
coating or fading of colour.
7. The welding or nylon tie knot / strap between IR garnishing and nets should be strong
enough to withstand rough handling and natural wear and tear.
8. The coating over the net should not deteriorate due to continuous extreme
atmospheric conditions.
9. The net should be compact, light and convenient to carry.
10. The net when damaged under field conditions should be easily repairable and suitable
repair Kit should be provided.
Operational Conditions
11. The camouflage net should be able to sustain the following environmental conditions:-
(a) Operation - Outdoor.
