Choose your own adventure!
I loved seeing those words on a book cover when I was a kid. These clever stories were written so that at the end of
each chapter, the reader could choose an option about how the story should progress. Your choice determined what
chapter you read next. The mix-and-match possibilities meant one book could tell a story many ways.
Chandi challenged me to interpret that very phrase, “choose your own adventure,” into a knit or crochet pattern. That
was the rst choice: knit or crochet? And I chose both so that everyone could join in the fun! (If you’d like to choose an
adventure in crochet, check out the Appetency pattern.) I’ve provided fourteen stitch patterns that each represent a
possible aspect of an adventure. As you answer the following questions, your choices will take you on your journey to
create a design that is uniquely yours. Let’s get started!
