Alkyl Phenol Polyethanoxy Ether 9016-45-9 99 % min
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
- Skin contact : Remove affected clothing and wash all exposed skin area with mild soap and
water, followed by warm water rinse
- Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15
min. Remove contact lenses, if present. Continue rinsing Consult with an
ophthalmologist immediately in all cases
- Inhalation : Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for
breathing. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing
stops, give artificial respiration.
- Ingestion : Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting, immediately call a poison
center or doctor/physician.
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Suitable Extinguishing Media : Foam. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide, Water Spray, sand.
Unsuitable Extinguishing Media : Do not use a heavy water stream.
Special hazard arising from the : Fire Hazard
substance or Mixture
Explosion hazard : May form flammable/explosive vapor-air mixture.
Special protective Equipment’s for fire : Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory
fighters protection
Advice for firefighters ,Fire Fighting : Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers. Exercise caution when
instructions fighting any chemical fire. Prevent fire-fighting water
from entering environment..
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal precautions, protective : Evacuate unnecessary personnel.
equipments and emergency procedure
Environmental Precautions : Avoid release to the environment. Avoid discharge into drains. Contact local
authorities in case of spillage
Methods and material for containment : Eliminate all ignition source. Take precautionary measures against static
and cleaning up discharge
Large Spills: stop the flow of the material, if this is without risk. Use a non-
combustible material like sand or earth to soak up the product and place into
container for later disposal
Small spills: Wipe up with absorbent material (eg. Cloth, fleece). Clean surface
thoroughly to remove residual contamination.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Precautions for Safe Handling
General Advice : Handle empty containers with care because residual vapors are flammable.
Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames, hot surfaces. -
No smoking.
Protection against fire and explosion : Vapors may form ignitable mixture with air. Avoid all sources of ignition: heat,
sparks, open flame. Avoid extreme heat.
Conditions for Safe Storage
General Advice : Proper grounding procedures to avoid static electricity should be followed. All
efforts should be made to prevent any leaks or spills.
Storage tanks should be engineered to prevent contact with water resources,
as this material could contaminate the water resources.
Surface spills can reach groundwater through porous soil or cracked surfaces.
The storage tanks should be monitored regularly for
leaks. Where spills or leaks are possible, a comprehensive response plan
should be developed and implemented.
Storage conditions : Keep only in the original container in a cool, well ventilated place away from:

Incompatible materials Source of ignition, direct sunlight, heat sources
8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION
Engineering control standards : Dry, well ventilated isolated area uses of flameproof fittings. Material handling
in closed system. Use local exhaust ventilation.
Personal Protective Equipments
Respiratory Protection : An approved organic vapor respirator/supplied air or self-contained breathing
apparatus must be used when vapor concentration
exceeds applicable exposure limits.
Hand Protection : Wear appropriate chemical resistant gloves
Eye Protection : Wear safety glasses with Face Shield / goggles
Body protection : Wear fire/flame resistant/retardant clothing.
General Safety and Hygiene measures Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wear
protective clothing necessary to minimize contact. Keep away from food, drink
etc. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.
