Hey there.
If you're overwhelmed trying to land a remote job, you're not alone.
There’s too much bad advice, too many paths, and no clear way forward.
I created this because I’ve been through that and realized people don’t need more
advice.
They need a proven system.
That’s what this cheat sheet is. It’s the exact path I wish someone had given me from
day one.

Step 1: Finding your path
The first step sets the foundation for everything. I recommend spending more time
than you think choosing your path before you get started. Working towards a goal
means nothing if it's the wrong goal.
Therefore, this step is about choosing your remote path and crafting a strategy
around that path. By path, I mean where you actually fit in.
Consider your previous skills, any education, and what you actually want to do. Then,
consider what the job market is looking for and what jobs are available.
You don't need to know your forever path; things can always change. But you do need
to figure out your next step. This will give you a sense of clarity and filter out 90% of
wasted effort.
After you're clear on what job to apply for and why, it's really just down to proper
strategy and execution. You're halfway there.
Step 2: Time to learn (the right way)
The next step is where upskilling comes in. For some jobs, you’ll already have the
necessary skills and can move straight to step 3. But in most cases, you will have
something to learn before becoming “qualified” for the job.
That’s when your skills match the expectations of employers. And don’t worry, those
are often much lower than people imagine.
If you've gone through Step 1 correctly, this will be easy. Now, it's just about finding
out which skills are the most important for that specific job.
Cutting away all the noise and all the skills that people are learning that don't actually
benefit them is how people are able to land jobs within weeks or months while
others are stuck learning in a loop for years.
You don't need 10 courses or know everything. You just need to properly upskill to
match the key ingredients of a strong candidate.
Step 3: Become Credible
So now you have the most essential skills, which went quickly because you nailed
that down and cut away everything else. But your skills mean very little on the job
market unless you can prove it and show employers that you’re ready.
Step three is becoming a credible candidate, someone the employer trusts to hire.
There are various ways of doing this. If you have a degree, that's one form, but it's
not the only one.
You can also leverage certifications, projects, recommendations, and other ways
most people never consider.
By optimizing your presence and profile, you go from a random candidate to
somebody they can trust to hire, and that's how you stand out and win.
Again, it's extremely important that all the steps are in place beforehand so that you
know which skills matter and where to focus your efforts. If you follow a good
strategy, you can save a lot of time and do this relatively quickly.
Step 4: Find actual jobs
We're moving to some real action, finding actual jobs. There are two ways you can go
here. Most people send hundreds, if not thousands, of applications and play a
guessing game.
That can work, but it's incredibly inefficient. You're literally gambling with your future,
and a career casino is no good place to be.
The right way is to focus on quality over quantity. When you find places with really
good job listings and filters, and you know exactly what to look for, it's much less
about throwing out a net and hoping to catch the right fish.
Instead, it's like picking a certain bait and using a fishing rod to catch the fish you're
looking for.
With this strategy, you can save days of frustration, apply less, and still get more
results. You don't want to go with the spray-and-pray method, which is becoming
increasingly popular.
You want to hit the bullseye right away.
Step 5: Apply with intention
This brings us to step five. To make a quality-focused approach work, you must apply
it with intention. This not only applies to finding the right jobs but also to how you
send your applications.
You will optimize everything, be a strong candidate, and send really good
applications. And here's the secret: You'll want to have a really good system to follow
up with your applications and know what to do.
This removes the luck aspect of job applications and makes them entirely based on
one's efforts and strategy.
But Here’s My MOST Important Advice to Get Hired Remotely
Imagine waking up and not feeling trapped, not needing permission to take a day off,
and having control of your time. That’s what remote work actually gives you. And it’s
way more doable than people think when you have the right plan.
So don’t settle for a situation you don’t like, even if your managers tell you how
everyone should work in the office all day. Because that’s “just the way it is.” But
milllions of people work from home in literally every country on earth.
Your number one enemy is your own mind, which can become poisoned by people
who believe working in the office is the only way.
I was told that working from home would be lonely, that I would be bored and live a
sad life, and that I would do my work poorly. Little did they know that I outperformed,
visited multiple countries, and spent more time with family and friends than ever.
People are jealous and afraid of feeling like they’re missing out. Because once you
start working remotely, there’s really no going back.
You might still want to come into the office once in a while to socialize. But your
entire perspective is different now.
There’s a whole world of remote work out there, with people living it every single day.
And I invite you to join us.
If you’re serious about making this happen, I built an entire course to help you get a
remote job, step by step, from scratch. It’s self-paced with lifetime access and
multiple other bonuses.
