Adopt a Tree Task Rubric (25 points) - individual
Tree Selection (5 points)
Criteria:
Selection of a small tree appropriate for the local climate and soil conditions.
Consideration of the tree's potential for growth to full maturity.
Score (0-5):
0-1: Poor choice of tree with little consideration for local conditions.
2-3: Adequate choice, but some aspects could be improved.
4-5: Excellent choice, considering local conditions and future growth.
Adoption and Care Plan (10 points)
Criteria:
Clearly defined plan for adopting and caring for the tree.
Demonstration of knowledge about the specific needs of the chosen tree.
Score (0-10):
0-3: Vague or incomplete care plan with little understanding of tree needs.
4-6: Adequate care plan with some understanding of tree needs.
7-9: Well-documented care plan demonstrating good understanding of tree needs.
10: Comprehensive and detailed care plan showcasing a deep understanding of the tree's requirements.
Regular Updates (5 points)
Criteria:
Submission of regular updates on the tree's progress (weekly, thru a photo collage of at least 12 weeks)
Evidence of active care and monitoring.
Score (0-5):
0-1: Rare or no updates submitted.
2-3: Periodic updates with room for improvement.
4-5: Consistent and detailed updates showcasing active care and monitoring.
Tree Health and Growth (5 points)
Criteria:
Evidence of the tree's health and growth over the assessment period.
Clear documentation of any challenges faced and solutions implemented.
Score (0-5):
0-1: Poor tree health and minimal growth.
2-3: Some evidence of tree health and growth with room for improvement.
4-5: Healthy tree with noticeable growth and effective problem-solving demonstrated.

CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION PERFORMANCE TASK (ADOPT A TREE)
Deadline: May 8, 2024, 6:00 PM
Cut-Off: May 10, 2024, 6:00 PM (Late submissions will not be accepted)
Task: Create a YouTube video showcasing your tree adoption and care plan.
Part 1: Video Content
Introduction (1 minute):
Briefly introduce yourself and your chosen or adopted guyabano or jackfruit tree.
State the location where the adopted tree is located, show it surroundings.
Tree Selection (2 minutes):
Explain about the particular tree species of your adopted plant
Research and discuss its suitability for your local climate and soil conditions.
Mention the tree's potential for growth at maturity.
Adoption and Care Plan (3 minutes):
Detail your plan for adopting and caring for the tree throughout its growth.
Demonstrate your knowledge about the specific needs of your chosen tree species.
This could include watering schedule, fertilization needs, pest control measures (if applicable) and
pruning techniques (if applicable).
Visual Documentation (2 minutes):
Include clear photos and/or short video clips throughout your video to visually document your progress.
Show yourself caring for the adopted tree, watering it, and implementing any other care methods from
your plan.
Part 2: Uploading Your Video to YouTube
Create a YouTube Channel (if you don't have one already): Visit YouTube and follow the prompts to
create a free account and channel.
Record your Video:
Use your smartphone or a camera to record your video based on the content points mentioned in Part 1.
Ensure good lighting and sound quality.
Edit Your Video (Optional):
You can use free video editing software on your computer or phone to add titles, background music, or
transitions (optional).
Upload Your Video to YouTube:
Sign in to your YouTube channel.
Click on "Create" and then "Upload videos."
Select the video file you want to upload.
Add a title, description, and tags relevant to your project (e.g., "Adopt a Tree Project," "Climate Change
Mitigation").

Important: Set the privacy settings to "Unlisted" so that only those with the link can view it.
Copy the Link:
Once your video is uploaded, copy the shareable link.
Part 3: Submitting Your Work in the Online Classroom
Go to your online classroom platform.
Locate the assignment for the Climate Change Mitigation - Adopt a Tree Task.
Paste the YouTube video link in the designated submission area. (Make sure it's set to "Unlisted" on
YouTube)
Submit your work before the deadline (May 8, 2024, 6:00 PM).
Additional Tips:
Keep your video concise and engaging. Aim for a total video length of around 8 minutes.
Be creative! You can add your personality and style to your video.
Double-check your YouTube video link before submitting your work.
