Question 1
Write about the life and duties of serfs under the
feudal system?
The serfs were the dependant peasants of the
medieval Europe they were considered as tenants
of the lord of the manor so in return they have to
pay rent to the lord thus they were forced to do
extra physical labour and thus they were made to
use all facilities provided in the manor and the
charges of these of course would be fixed by the
lord and they would have to pay it.

Question 2
Examine how archaeology aids in the
reconstruction of ancient cultures and societies?

Archaeology is the study of ancient times in


respect to society and culture. The archaeologists
study the artifacts ruined buildings monuments
etc and these also include written records that are
very old. The study of the archaeologists help
gather information which are more accurate and
reliable and these studies inform us of the
societies and cultures of the past. thus they give a
strong base for a clear understanding of the past.
Question 3
Analyse the functions of Municipal Council
The municipal council performs the following
functions
Health and sanitation: it manages the cleanliness
of the town maintains hospitals and prevents sales
of unhygienic goods.
Electricity and water supply: ensures supply of
electricity and safe drinking water and maintains
water tankers.
Education : maintaining of primary and
elementary schools.
Birth and Death records : maintaining the birth
and death records and issuing those records also.
Public works: creating public facilities such as
maintaining and repairing roads and constructing
public halls markets etc.
Question 4
Analyze the effectiveness of measures like wildlife
sanctuaries and national parks in preserving the
natural heritage of India.
The wildlife sanctuaries in India are home to
around to 3500 species of mammals 30000
different kinds of insects and 15000 varieties of
plants these wildlife sanctuaries are also home to
several endangered species such as the Royal
Bengal Tiger and the Asiatic Elephant. In total
there are 551 wildlife sanctuaries in India in fact
apart from providing a home to the animals these
sanctuaries also create awareness to protect the
wild animals in the heart of the citizens.
The main objectives of the national park are to
provide protection to endangered animals and to
provide legal support to the conservation area of
the country classified as a national park. Creating
national parks allows the citizens to appreciate
the beauty of the nature in our country
furthermore it also inspires the citizens to protect
nature.
Question 5
Analyze the role of Urbanization and its associated
challenges, such as increased pollution and waste
generation, in contributing environmental
degradation.
Today a lot of people are moving from the villages
to the towns resulting in unplanned expansion of
the cities thus creating a lot of wastage and
pollution , the urban slums are the worst polluted
areas. Population growth: the rapid population
growth in our country has lead to the excessive
utilization of natural resources. Huge population
also results in huge wastes thus the population
also results in huge pollution.
Waste management : lot of wastages have been
created especially in the cities resulting in huge
pollutions and creation of slum areas.
Question 6
To assess the electoral literacy, conduct a survey
around your household. Ask the following
questions from the given survey questionnaire to
20 peoples who are 18 years old or above and
write their responses. Analyze the collected
responses and draw your conclusions.
