HISTORICAL BACKGROUND AND NECESSITY:
The Dal Lake is famous throughout the world for its beauty and
natural topography and is unique -being surrounded by the tertian of
mountains which add to its beauty and glory worldwide. At present the
existence of Dal Lake has become very mandatory and important for the
authorities and is unavoidable to take the best possible measures
because of its high speed degradation and is inching towards extinction.
To review the lake to its original glory immense efforts are being put in by
the authority of LCMA.

The Authority has established a full-fledged law enforcement

division, assigned the works of curbing illegal activities/constructions in
and around the Dal lake round O’clock. To act instantly, the enforcement
division is provided with the two number of backhoe excavators cum
loaders for demolition and removing of illegal encroachments. Since
operability of vehicles is immense, breakdowns occur on regular basis.
Thus, necessitating, carrying out the routine preventive & corrective
maintenance works for minimizing breakdown on minor or major scale
without affecting the deweeding process.

PROPOSAL:
It is proposed to carry out the regular preventive & corrective
maintenance works on as and when required basis, so that the backhoe
loaders perform smoothly.

MAINTENANCE/REPAIR COST:
The tentative cost abstract to the tune of Rs 5.50 Lacs involves on
account of Annual Maintenance Rate Contract for repairs /replacement of
damaged spare parts including scheduled servicing of for repairs
/replacement /damaged spares parts, change of lubes(on as and when
required basis) of departmental JCB 3dx-Super & Escorts Back hoe
