Media Resource 1 : A Video

b. When it will be used - week and This Video will be watched during the 3rd
lesson number week of June. The learners will be required
to stay behind after the normal school hours
to further prepare for their exams (afternoon
classes). This educational video will be a
part of Lesson number 11 , which is the last
lesson for Term 1.
c. Outcome By the end of this video, the learners will be
able to differentiate between rural and
urban settlements , give four types of
settlements, define and define urbanisation.

e. Resource description Resource description: This will be a Two-
Teacher role minutes YouTube Video which summarises
Learner role the lessons that have been taught
throughout term 1 which will give the
learners an idea of what to focus on when
they are preparing for their Mid-Year
examinations, it will be the last lesson for
Term 1 (Grade 12).
Teacher role: The teacher’s role is to
assess the class , to make sure that the
learners are all focusing on the video and
no one is making noise or distracting the
class. The teacher also has to make sure
that the learners understand everything.
She will ensure this by pausing the video
and asking the questions based on the
video they are watching.
Learner’s role: the role of the learner is to
not only watch the video, but they should
listen attentively to it, take notes and ask

c. Outcome By the end of this lesson ,learners should be able to
name the reasons why people migrate from rural areas
to urban areas, reasons for homelessness in urban
areas and also reasons for unemployment., they
should be able to name the different types of
settlements.
d. Teaching Strategy Blended Learning and also the Telling Method.
e. Resource description, Resource description: The slides will be displayed in
teacher role and learner a way that is clear enough to give the learners a better
role understanding. The teacher will add clear pictures on
the slides which illustrates the reasons for Migration in
South Africa. The teacher will use PowerPoint to
design the slides prior the lessons which will give her a
chance to present, share information while displaying
the slides on the Smart Board.
Teacher role: The role of a teacher is to present and
deliver information while displaying the slides. The
teacher makes sure that each slide is clearly explained
allowing learners to also add their ideas and ask
questions. The teacher should be one that maintains
order in the classroom making sure there is no noise
and lastly the teacher should also be a facilitator of
learning making sure that she doesn’t just read the
slides but explain in depth and help the learners
understand.
Learner role: A learner should be an active
participant , making sure that they ask questions or
provide ideas during the lesson. The leaners should be
responsible listeners and viewers because slides can
be really tricky so they require an undivided attention
as you should not only be viewing what is displayed,
but you should listen to the teacher’s explanation , take
some notes and prepare questions to ask at the end of
the lesson.

pie chart, which demonstrates the

South Africa, for example, it will make the

Provinces.
Teacher role: Before this lesson the
teacher will give learners a homework to go
and interview their schoolmate , ask them
questions like , where were they born and
why did they move from where they were
born and they should record all the data to
the teacher, The teacher will then design a
bar graph and a pie chart based on these
findings. The teacher will be responsible for
explaining the findings further to the whole
class and give them an opportunity to ask
questions and also provide feedback to the
learners enquires.
Learner role: The learners’ role for this
lesson ids to complete the task of
interviewing their school mates and ask
them , where they were born and why did
they move from that particular place the
after they should submit their finding to the
teacher.
