Class 12 Physics - Chapter-wise Short Notes & Formula Sheet

1. Electric Charges and Fields

Short Notes:

- Charge is a scalar quantity.

- Like charges repel, unlike charges attract.

- Coulomb's Law: F = k * |q1*q2| / r^2

Formulas:

Coulomb's Law: F = k * |q1*q2| / r^2

Electric Field: E = F/q

Electric Field due to point charge: E = k*q/r^2

2. Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance

Short Notes:

- Potential energy exists due to position in electric field.

- Capacitance is the ability to store charge.

Formulas:

V = k*q/r

C = Q/V

C (parallel plate) = A/d

3. Current Electricity
Short Notes:

- Current is the rate of flow of charge.

- Ohms law relates V, I and R.

Formulas:

V = IR
R = L/A

Power = VI = IR = V/R

4. Moving Charges and Magnetism

Short Notes:

- A moving charge creates a magnetic field.

- Right-hand rule determines direction of magnetic field.

Formulas:

B = I/2r (straight wire)

F = qvBsin

F = I L B sin
