INTRODUCTION
RHEEYAN: A pleasant day to our audience for today, how was everybody’s first week of ber
months? Welcome to our number 1 show “ALL ABOUT POLITICS”!
DONARD: Great day, everyone! You seem so energetic today, Rheeyan!
RHEEYAN: Yes, I am! I am excited to interview our guest for today here in our show. Allow me to
introduce them for our audience to know who they are!
DONARD: Go ahead, I am also thrilled to know who they are!
RHEEYAN: They are today’s political science students, we have here our fine young man Harold,
Lourd, Drexler and Jiene. Please give them a round of applause. Perhaps you're wondering why
they’re here with us instead of studying right now in their school. Well, let's just say that they are
the closest living descendants of the political scientist we have way back then and that they
agreed to an interview with us.
DONARD: I know that they are looking forward to share their knowledge to us about a certain
topic called “Fascism”. So, with the help of our guests, we will discuss everything about fascism.
It’s meaning, characteristics, history or origin, some examples of this ideology and many more!
RHEEYAN; Without further ado, let’s start with a question, what is the etymology of the word
fascism?
HAROLD: The Italian term fascismo is derived from fascio, meaning 'bundle of sticks', ultimately
from the Latin word fasces. This was the name given to political organizations in Italy known as
fasci, groups like guilds or syndicates.
RHEEYAN: Oh, I see, that’s amazing. Guilds are artisans and merchants, right? Then what is
fascism?
LOURD: Based on our research, Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political
ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism,
forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual
interests for the perceived good of
the nation or race, and strong
regimentation of society and the
economy.
DONARD: I am curious, where and
when did it started?
DREXLER: Fascism rose to
prominence in early 20th-century
Europe. The first fascist
movements emerged in
Italy during World War
I before spreading to other
European countries, most
notably Germany.
RHEEYAN: Then can you guys tell
us the characteristics of fascism?
JIENE: (READ WHAT’S IN THE

RHEEYAN: Someone from the audience is raising her hand, maybe she wants to ask more
question for clarification. Let’s hear it out!
EDWINALYN: Can you elaborate how fascism occur at Italy and Germany and who are the people
involved there?
HAROLD: In 1922, fascism came as a government system through Benito Mussolini of Italy.
Strongman Mussolini allied with Adolf Hitler of Germany in propagating extreme nationalism
through advancing their borders to cover Europe. Benito Mussolini was an Italian politician who
founded and led the National Fascist Party. He is considered as one of the founders of fascism, it
emphasizes the importance of the nation and the state, and the need for a strong leader to
control the state. Mussolini's fascist regime in Italy from 1922 to 1943 is often cited as an
example of fascism in practice and until he was shot dead. Adolf Hitler was a fascist dictator
who ruled Nazi Germany from 1933 until his suicide in 1945. He was a key figure in the rise of
fascism in Europe in the 1920s and 1930s. Hitler's fascist regime was characterized by its
aggressive militarism, anti semitism, and totalitarian control of society.
DONARD: Interesting! Let’s have another question, still from our audience.
WALTER: What are the pros and cons of fascism?
LOURD: For Pros: Strong military, Unity, Laws and decision-making can be done quickly,
Opportunities for private business and property.
DREXLER: For Cons: Corruption may occur, controlling, abuse power, no freedom of speech, and
promotes war and violence.
CHINA: What are the aspects that opposes fascism?
JIENE: It opposed to anarchism, democracy, pluralism, egalitarianism, liberalism, socialism,
communism, capitalism, Marxism, and so on.
RHEEYAN & DONARD: It’s time to sum up!

party, with limited or no accountability.
