In this tutorial we present five different tool for recording
presentation videos, as well as uploading them on YouTube:

How to Upload your Video to YouTube 30

The users are free to choose any of these tools. The most
important part is that the videos are uploaded on YouTube and
submitted via the submission form for the event.

How to Record a Video with
OBS ®
1 - Download OBS Studio
You can download OBS Studio using the link below. Next, you
just need to install it.

2 - Creating a scene
The setup procedure is very simple and takes less than three
minutes.

OBS Studio home screen looks like this:

The requirements for recording are three different sources:


● Audio
● Presentation window
● Presenter camera

Step 1 - Adding an audio source

Click on the + button and select the option Audio Input


Capture, and then click OK.

Then, select the audio input device and click OK.

At the sources list now there is an option called Audio Input


Device.

Step 2 - Adding a presentation window

Click again on the + Button in Sources and select Window


Capture.

Select the window where your presentation is and click OK.

If it’s a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, open it and select it


in the list.

Step 3 - Adding a camera source

Click again on the + Button in Souces and select Video Capture


Device.

Select your camera and click OK.

Make it smaller so that it takes up only a little portion at the
corner of the screen.

You can click on the Move Up and Move Down buttons
so your camera can overlay the presentation, as shown below.

3 - Recording
Click on Settings to adjust the Video Output format.

We recommend using mp4 - it has a high quality and medium


file size.

To finish, click on Start Recording and start your presentation in
full window mode.

4 - Exporting the video

The video will be saved in the folder you chose on Settings and
Output.

Meet®

1- Changing to an institutional account

First, you need to logged in and Institutional email account or G


Suite account, otherwise the recording option will not be
available.

To do so, you need to access Google Meet and change your


account clicking on the top corner icon..

2 - Creating a new meeting

You will be redirected to a new page that looks like the one
below.
Click on “New Meeting” and then click on “Start an instant
meeting”.

Allow your web browser to access your camera and microphone.

You can control your microphone and camera using these
buttons:

2- Start recording

Click on the three dots on the lower corner:

Select the option “record meeting”:

Accept the terms:

Make sure the meeting is being recorded by checking the


“Recording” icon on the left upper corner.

To stop recording, click again on the three dots on the corner
and select “Stop Recording”. Confirm that you want to stop.

The video will be available on a Google Drive folder associated


with this institucional email.

3 - Accessing the video:

Access Google Drive using the same accout you used to record
on Meet.

Look for the folder “Meet Recording”- the video will be inside it.

Depending on its lenght, the video can take a few hours to be


processed.

1 - Starting a new meeting

Open the Zoom app on your computer - the browser version


doesn’t have the recording option.

Start a new meeting:

Select the option “Join with Computer Audio”:

You can control your microphone and webcam using these two
buttons, on the lower menu:

2 - Start recording

To start recording, select “Record” on the lower menu:

Make sure your meeting is being recorded by checking the
indicator on the left upper corner:

To pause or stop the recording, use the buttons on the lower
menu or the left upper corner:

The recording can be stopped and restarted at any time, but will
be saved on different files.

The video will be saved only when the meeting stops - you can
end the meeting by simply quitting it or clicking on “End
meeting for all”.

Wait for the video to process - otherwise, the files will be
corrupted and can’t be recovered.

When you finish, the folder where the recordings were saved
will be opened. Each meeting has its own folder with its
recordings. The files will be divided into video (mp4), audio
(m4a), playlist (m3u) and chat (txt).

3 - Accessing the recorded videos:

Click on “Meetings” on the Zoom app:

Select “Recorded” and choose the meeting on the left:

Click on “Open” to show the folder with the files or “Play” to
replay the recording directly on Zoom.

How to Upload your Video to
YouTube
Sign up to YouTube and upload the video.

It’s important to add the presenter’s name, as well as the


presentation title.

IMPORTANT: Upload the video as unlisted, so it will be visible
only to those who have the link.
