Multi-Indicator Trading Strategy Full Guide

Strategy Overview

-----------------

This strategy combines three powerful indicators to improve trade accuracy and reduce false

signals: Moving Averages for trend direction, RSI for momentum, and Volume to confirm strength

behind moves.

Indicators and Settings

------------------------

Indicator | Settings | Purpose

--------------|-----------------------------|------------------------------

Fast MA | 7 EMA (Close) | Quick reaction to price movement

Slow MA | 21 EMA (Close) | Confirms trend direction

RSI | Period: 14, Levels: 30 & 70 | Detects overbought and oversold

Volume Filter | Higher than average volume | Confirms strength of moves

Buy Signal Criteria

-------------------

- Price is above both the 7 EMA and 21 EMA

- 7 EMA crosses above 21 EMA

- RSI is above 30 and ideally rising (not oversold)

- Volume is higher than its recent average, confirming move strength

Sell Signal Criteria

Multi-Indicator Trading Strategy Full Guide

--------------------

- Price is below both the 7 EMA and 21 EMA

- 7 EMA crosses below 21 EMA

- RSI is below 70 and ideally falling (not overbought)

- Volume is higher than its recent average

How It Works

-------------

Moving Averages (Trend & Signal):

- Two EMAs (7 and 21 periods) are used.

- The 7 EMA reacts quickly to price changes, showing short-term momentum.

- The 21 EMA smooths price data to confirm the overall trend.

- A crossover of these MAs signals a potential trend change:

- When 7 EMA crosses above 21 EMA: potential buy signal

- When 7 EMA crosses below 21 EMA: potential sell signal

Relative Strength Index (Momentum Filter):

- RSI measures price momentum and helps avoid entering trades when the market is overbought or

oversold.

- Buy signals are considered only if RSI is above 30, ensuring the market is not oversold and

momentum is turning up.

- Sell signals are valid only if RSI is below 70, ensuring the market is not overbought and momentum

is turning down.

Volume (Strength Confirmation):

- Volume confirms the strength of price movements.

- Signals are trusted only when volume is above average, reducing the chance of fake breakouts

caused by low liquidity or market noise.

Additional Filters

------------------

- Confirm signals on 2 timeframes (for example, M15 and H1) to increase reliability.

- Use stop-losses and trailing stops to manage risk.

Benefits

---------

- Reduces false signals and bad trades.

- Combines trend direction, momentum, and volume for robust entries.

- Helps traders catch early, high-probability moves.

- Flexible for different markets and timeframes.

Platform

---------

MetaTrader 5 (MT5)
