PARENTS
INVOLVEMENT
• I believe that our parents is involved
in our personal lives in different

primary people that molded us into
what person we are right now. They
are involved in our daily living. They
influenced us and they guide us. But
in today’s topic, we will be focusing
on parent’s involvement in
educationalaspectofastudent’slife.
• According to experts, parental
involvement happens when teachers
engage parents in school events and
meetings, and parents volunteer and give
their support at home and school. In this
way, they take dedication and
commitment. Parents act and commit to
prioritizingtheirchild’slearninggoals,and
teachers commit to sensing and
providing a space for cooperation and
collaborationwithparents.
• Parent involvement in family-school
partnerships is widely accepted as
supporting improved student outcomes.
• Parent involvement, defined as
representing a parent’s active
commitment to spend time to assist in
the academic and general development
of their children’.
• It is important in family–school partnerships
has been widely established as supporting and
improving students’ social, emotional and
academic outcomes.
• It improves student achievement, self-esteem,
and behavior. It also helps to build strong
relationships between parents and their child’s
school including the teachers, faculty and
staffs.
• Children whose parents are actively involved in their
schooling benefit better than children whose parents
are passively involved. Specifically, if parents attend
teacher conferences, accept phone calls from the
school, and read and sign messages from school, their
children will benefit academically more than children
whose parents do none of the above. Furthermore,
children excel even more when their parents assist
them at home with their homework, attend school
sponsored events, and volunteer at their children’s
schools (Suizzo, 2007; Weisz, 1990).

• Partnerships tend to decline across the
grades.
• Affluent communities currently have more
positive family involvement, on the average.
• School is more economically depressed
communities make more contacts with
families about problems and difficulties their
children are having .
• Single parents, parents who are employed
outside the home, parents who live far from
school and fathers are less involved, on the
average at the school building.
• Teachers are considered to be a multitasker.
They facilitate and handle a lot of things in and
outside the school. Based on my own
experience, teachers are the second parent of
the students and they are the one also who
facilitate the classroom environment
including the daily activities of the students.
they are the very first person who manages
the class and they do inform the parents in
connection to the students experiential data
in the school including their progress and
problems.
• The role of teacher in parent involvement
• Teachers are the first line of
communication between parents and
the school, so it falls to you to
communicate often, ask for help and
engage parents as an active part of the
learning process.
• Teachers can always use an extra pair of
hands to pass out papers, organize
supplies, help with line monitoring and
complete many daily tasks. This can
make a parent assistant a valuable tool in
creating an encouraging and
comprehensive learning environment.
• The role of teacher in parent involvement
• In short, teachers will lead the
collaboration with the parents by
building a healthy and strong
connection between them so that
they could make the children’s
learning meaningful and
successful.
• They serve as soldiers who has an
immense contribution and
responsibility in shaping our
children’s personality.
What could go
wrong in parent
involvement?
What could go wrong is also considered as barrier.

• Parental involvement also more securely sets
these students up to develop a lifelong love of
learning, which researchers say is key to long-term
success.
• Parental involvement is the active, ongoing partici-
pation of a parent or primary caregiver in the edu-
cation of a child.
• Positive parent involvement is a great help in
nurturing a more inclusive environment for the
academic performances of the children.
