Material:
Hook Size: J

Yarn: 3 skeins Lion Brand Heartland (700 yds worsted weight) {4 skeins for large/extra large}

Gauge:
6 dc=2"
3 rows=2"

Finished measurement: 25” {29”} from neckline to point (before fringe)

Note: Instructions are for size Small/Medium, with size Large/Extra Large in {}.

Ch 90 {98}, being careful not to twist, join with sl st to first ch.

Row 1: ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here and throughout), dc in each of next 21 {23} ch, ch 3, dc in each of next
45 {49}ch, ch 3, dc in each of next 23 {25} ch, join with sl st in top of 1st ch 3.

Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as 1st dc and ch 1 here and throughout), turn, skip next dc, *dc in next dc, ch 1, skip
next dc, repeat from * 10 {11} times, dc in ch 3 sp, ch 3, dc in same ch 3 sp, ch 1, skip next dc, *dc in
next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, repeat from * 21 {23} times, dc in ch 3 sp, ch 3, dc in same ch 3 sp, ch 1, skip
next dc, *dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, repeat from * 9 {10} times, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning
ch 4.

Row 3: ch 3, turn, dc in each ch 1 sp and dc across to ch 3 sp, (dc, ch 3, dc) in ch 3 sp, *dc in next dc and
each ch 1 sp and dc across* to ch 3 sp, (dc, ch 3, dc) in ch 3 sp, repeat from * to * across, dc in last ch 1
sp, join with sl st in top of 1st ch 3.

Row 4: ch 3, turn, *dc in next dc and each dc across to ch 3 sp, (dc, ch 3, dc) in ch 3 sp, repeat from *
across, dc in each dc across, join with sl st in top of 1st ch 3.

Row 5: repeat row 4.

Row 6: ch 4, turn, skip next dc, *dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, repeat from * across to ch 3 sp, (dc, ch
3, dc) in ch 3 sp, ch 1, skip next dc, *dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, repeat from * across to ch 3 sp, (dc,
ch 3, dc) in ch 3 sp, ch 1, skip next dc, *dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, repeat from * across, join with sl
st in 3rd ch of beginning ch 4.

Rows 7-29 {33}: Repeat rows 3-6, ending with row 5.

Finish off.

For neck finishing:


Row 1: With right side facing, join with sl st in free loop of beginning ch, ch 1, sc in same ch, working in
free loops of beginning ch, sc in each of next 22 {24} ch, working in next 2 ch, sc 2 together, sc in each of
next 43 {47} ch, working in next 2 ch, sc 2 together, sc in each of next 20 {22} ch, join with sl st to 1st sc.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st sc and each of next 20 {22} sc, working in next 2 sc, sc 2 together, sc in each of
next 42 {44} sc, working over next 2 sc, sc 2 together, sc in each of next 21 {23} sc, join with sl st to 1st sc.

Finish off. Weave in all ends.

For Fringe:
1. Cuts strands of yarn 15” long (hint: wrap yarn around book that’s approximately 7”
wide, then cut through on one side)
2. Hold 5 strands together and fold in half
3. With crochet hook, draw folded end through ch 3 space at point
4. Pull loose ends through folded section and pull to form knot
5. Add fringe in chain 3 sp and dcs equally spaced around.
Abbreviations:

Ch: chain

Sl: slip stitch

Sc: single crochet

Dc: double crochet
