Bishop stood to give the opening speech. He taught on how Christians should practices
personal prayers more frequently. The secretary stood and read the previous minutes reports.
FR FRANK OPONDO and FRANCIS OTIENO both confirmed the as the true reports.
Matters Arising->: it was noticed that Yala Diocese had not met the headquarters demands.
Yala had given 30,000/=for popes medical funds, having a debt of 15000/=. The missions
that had not submitted their dues was to do with immediate effect as there was no time.
MIN-02-16/06/2025 – ARCHBISHOP`S HOUSE AWELO

This agenda brought a lot of issues on whether to contribute it to category ranking or flat rate.
After lengthy discussions, the council agreed to take it ’category way’.
CATEGORY A.-2700, B-2200, C-1700.
The bishop stood to give a warning to priests who`s churches would fail to meet the agreed
target to prepare for server consequences. Every church to make sure they meet all
requirements and targets out by the council. Let no church fail to remit.
MIN 03-16/06/2025- END OF EPISCOPAL OFFICIAL VISITATION OF 2025.
On this agenda wagai church was asked to give their insights on this year visit. Wagai leaders
present cheered for 2025 visits and gave their comments as a year they`d never witnessed, i.e
the assessment between the bishop`s office and the church`s office. They said that the
assessments always identified to them whether they have met the requirements as church and
made them know their strengths and weaknesses. Superior father responded to it that they
removed that mandate from the bishop’s office to the pastorate office to be doing the
assessments when the pastorate visits the mission.
He further added that since a priest is their colleague and the assessment done always touched his
welfare, they saw it wise for the office to deal with that. Every church was given chance to give
an opinion regarding the visit and all were amazed by it. The delegation was also given time to
talk. They all praised how they were handled during that period.A senior Member of the Council
challenged Yala Diocese for what he witnessed on the final blessings day. He wondered why
Bishops the one who budgets for Christians on the final blessing day, yet they were the one who
gave the items and cash that they are consuming on that day. He said that it’s prudent to watch
Bishops budgeting for the people using just the things they had given him previous weeks. Why
did we give him those things if we again assemble to consume the very items? He said let the
Diocese should look deeper into that.
Another Senior officer of the Council suggested that let the final day of blessing go around in all
missions, we should not centralize final day in one mission as it has always been done. After
several testimonies the secretary stood to read the full report, thereafter the bishop stood for a
speech.
Bishop:’’I’m happy and grateful for the hospitality I received in your missions. All you did t you
did to almighty, if by any chance i/we wronged anybody during/after the visits, I apologise. My
delegation, my family and I were very happy. Respect these priests, they are the bosses god gave
you at your grassroots. I gave directives in the previous year that you make sure to hold
harambees and give them new kanzus, I urge you to respect that. You’ve heard the report we
collected, it bears a lot that perhaps challenged a church, I urge everyone to rectify the
shortcomings that were identified. I have a little light lunch to offer to you as council, take it with
humility and love as we proceed with this meeting. I also have some small token to give to
priests (diocese ministers), they need good care. My cabinate take this with humility and
love’’.ST PETERO NYALUNYA, ST JOANNES RERA and SUPERIOR FATHER DAN all got
congratulatory gifts.
