CLARiiON Release 28 Out-of-Family Conversion Request Form

Software and procedures for Out-of-Family conversions to a CX4 series model running Release 28 are distributed on a
per-request basis beginning March 2010.

Reasons for this change:


o Support for latest hardware: Conversion hardware models ending in "C8" or "C8X" (e.x. "CX3-448C8" and "CX3-
448C8X") contain 8Gb FC I/O modules and require Release 29 conversion software.
o Important bug fix: A background verify issue with Release 28 conversion software has been fixed in Release 29
conversion software. Refer to EMC Knowledgebase article emc224596 for more information.

NOTE: The following scenarios are NOT affected (this form not required):
o In-Family conversions using Release 28
o In-Family and Out-of-Family conversions using Release 29

Options:
o Use Release 29 conversion software to complete this activity (recommended option).
OR
o Request Release 28 procedures and conversion software by submitting this completed form to
[email protected]. Requests will only be completed during normal business hours
and could take several business days to complete. Also note that CCA requests for these affected
scenarios will require an approval email to be attached.
