Elementary 1 (Level 4)

Course aim*

Through this course, learners can understand sentences and frequently used expressions
related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information,
shopping, local geography, employment). They can introduce oneself and others and can ask
and answer questions about personal details such as where they live and people they know.
Learners can also communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct
exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Finally, they can describe in simple
terms aspects of their background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate
need.

The course is divided into 3 levels: Elementary 1, Elementary 2 and Elementary 3. Each level is
33 hours of instruction.
Course objectives*

A. Assessments
1. Learners will have five assessments at regular intervals in each level:
