Ch.1

i. Discipline is lacking among children today. They don’t obey the elders and often
disrespect them. Ethical and moral values are degenerating as people are becoming self-
centered. This decline in moral values is resulting in undesirable aspects. There is lack of
peace and harmony, decrease in trust and increase in unethical and criminal behavior,
and break down of social harmony.
ii. Many religions emphasize on the values that contribute to universal brotherhood and
harmony. We should build bridges of understanding and co-operation among people of
different faiths. The following are the key values of each religion: -
Hinduism: - Ahimsa, Judaism: - Performance of good deeds, Islam: - Compassion,
Buddhism: - Non- violence, Christianity: - Love.
iii. (a). Encouraging universal brotherhood.
(b). Respecting each other and teaching others to do the same.

Ch.2.

i. The makers of our Constitution were able to work together due to several key values
like:- 1. Unity, 2. Democratic values, 3. Social justice, 4. Secularism, 5. Ideals of Liberty
and Individual rights.
ii. The moral values that have influenced me the most are: -
1. Equality -> The idea that everyone should be treated equally regardless of the
background.
2. Secularism -> Respecting all religions which allows peaceful co-existence.
3. Freedom of thought and expression -> The ability to express ideas freely is essential
for the progress of our nation.

Ch. 3. A.

i. From the real-life story, we can understand that self-awareness gives us clear identity.
Self-awareness helps us to know our strength and weakness. According to the given
story, the maid was lower in power and wealth than the princess, but her self-awareness
was of greater significance

Ch. 3. B.

i. There are different kinds of thinking such as: -


1. Concrete thinking -> It is the simplest form of thinking as concrete objects are used
in thinking.
2. Abstract thinking -> Like concrete thinking it does not need concrete objects. In this
type of thinking, the use of concepts and ideas play a great role. This abstract thinking
is superior to concrete thinking.
3. Logical thinking -> It is a higher type of thinking which has a definite purpose, and is
usually aimed at solving a problem
4. Creative thinking -> Creative thinking is creating something new. The thinking of the
scientists and inventors is an example of creative thinking.

Ch. 3. C.

i. The qualities of creative thinkers are: -


1. They stand high on novelty.
2. They have originality.
3. Their creation is unique.
4. Their creation has perfect individuality.
5. Creative thinkers have novel ideas.
6. They are able to produce or create something entirely new.
7. They have flexibility and persistence.
8. They are optimistic and confident.
