II. Rationale:

The elementary years are a critical period for the holistic development of
children. During this time, fostering creativity, physical fitness, and cultural
identity becomes essential in shaping well-rounded individuals. Because of
this, Daligdigan Elementary School proposed to conduct a project called
“Lakbay Sining: A MAPEH Festival Journey towards Filipino Fitness and
Culture” for the School Year 2025-2026 that would create a space where
pupils of Daligdigan Elementary School can explore their artistic and physical
potential while celebrating Filipino culture.

Lakbay Sining: A MAPEH Festival of Filipino Culture and Fitness is an

integrative project that combines all four elements of MAPEH: Music, Arts, PE,
and Health. The project focuses on celebrating Filipino culture through
workshops, performances, and activities that culminate in a vibrant festival.
The title “Lakbay Sining” (Journey of Art) reflects the students' journey
through artistic expression, cultural learning, and physical activity.

The festival will feature traditional Filipino music and dance performances, an
art exhibit showcasing students' crafts, and competitions in traditional games
like Luksong Tinik and Tumbang Preso. Health education will also be a key
focus, with activities promoting wellness and traditional Filipino health
practices.

Through this project, students will be immersed in activities related to Filipino

music, arts, traditional games, and health practices. The festival will serve as a
platform for students to showcase their talents and skills while promoting
fitness and wellness in a culturally relevant context.

developing their creativity, teamwork, and physical fitness as it specify the
