CHAPTER ONE
Profile
Optimisation
Before you start your personal branding journey, ask yourself these
questions.
Because let's face it, your online profile is like your digital superhero
identity!
Ahh, pardon me. I’m a big Marvel fan.
Okay, back to where we were.
1. Does your profile picture radiate awesomeness in high definition?
2. Is your profile pic zoomed in for that superhero close-up?
3. Have you donned a cool banner like a cape?
4. Is your headline optimized to showcase your superpowers?
5. Is your "About" section telling your story with flair?
6. Are your featured highlights like the gadgets in Batman's utility
belt?
7. Is Creator Mode turned on to unleash your inner content creator?
8. Have your skills been endorsed by your trusty sidekicks?
We need a yes for all these questions.
OH, AND DO NOT FORGET TO TURN ON THE CREATOR MODE!
CHAPTER ONE
Profile Picture
Add a high-quality photo with
1. Your face in focus
2. 25% zoomed in
3. Solid colour in the background
4. Approachable (Imagine smiling)
Banner
Your banner needs to scream your brand. It has to reflect your brand colour. ?
Willing to show yourself on it?
Even better!
Here’s how you are going to optimize it -
Add a one liner best telling about your offer/services.
Or your one liner could be a testimonial along with the results you brought
to your clients.
Your banner should redirect your reader to either your feature section or
about section.
Do not forget to add a CTA (Booking a call, Emailing to know about offers,
etc)
Here’s a roundup of some of the best banners in the business.
CHAPTER TWO
CHAPTER ONE
Headline
Crafting a standout LinkedIn headline is like distilling your professional
essence into a few words. Keep it short, sweet, and human:
Brevity is key: Pack a punch in under 120 characters for quick impact.
Sprinkle in keywords: Infuse your headline with words that capture your skills
and aspirations.
Energize with verbs: Use action words to inject vitality into your narrative.
Get specific: Paint a clear picture of your offers, services, and results
Add a personal touch: Let your personality shine through, making your
headline both memorable and genuine.
Think of it as a conversation starter – concise, engaging, and uniquely you.
A few examples for you:
CHAPTER ONE
Feature Section
One of the most underrated but profound parts of your profile, your feature
section is a game changer.
Here’s a step by step guide to optimize it to better position your offer.
1. Visit your profile and click on the "add profile section" button near the top.
CHAPTER ONE
2. Click on the recommended tab to find the option to add your featured section
3. Then click on the “Add feature” option.
CHAPTER ONE
4. You can add a post, newsletter, article, course that you've taken, a link, or
photos.
Which you decide to include will depend entirely on your goals for your LinkedIn
profile.
5. Bonus point
Stick to your brand colour
Use smart copy to write about your offer/services
CHAPTER ONE
About Section
Now here’s where you level up your profile game.
Stand out amongst the countless AI generated About sections.
And please, for god’s sake, DO NOT write your introduction here in third person.
It’s you!
YOU are telling all the good things about yourself to your visitors.
Here’s how you can nail your About section.
First off, keep it crisp. No need for a novel – just hit the highlights.
Start with a punchy intro that grabs attention.
Now, spill the beans on what makes you stand out.
Share skills, achievements, and a dash of personality. This isn't a robotic
resume; let your human side shine.
AIDA time.
Grab their Attention, spark Interest, create Desire, and guide them to Action.
Show them you're the solution to their problems – the go-to person in your
field.
End it with a call to action.
Be clear on what you want them to do next. Whether it's connecting,
collaborating, or just starting a conversation – be direct.
CHAPTER TWO
Engagement
Strategy
I have time and again stressed the importance of engagement to grow your
LinkedIn account.
If I have to be honest, the ratio between posting and engagement should be 40:60.
Engagement is crucial to establishing your presence, nurturing relationships and
being more visible across a vast demography.
Here’s a breakdown of the engagement strategy that worked for me and should for
you too!
10% top creators (above 70k)
20% creators above you (below 70k)
20% creators at your level
10% newbies (0-1000)
40% from the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)
CHAPTER THREE
Frameworks that
work on LinkedIn
Here’s a roundup of a few frameworks that work for you on LinkedIn.
AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action):
Attention: Grab the audience's attention with a compelling headline or
introduction.
Interest: Spark interest by highlighting the value or benefits of what you
have to offer.
Desire: Create a desire for your product or service by emphasizing its
advantages.
Action: Prompt the audience to take a specific action, such as visiting your
website or contacting you.
PAS (Problem-Agitate-Solution):
Problem: Identify and present a problem your audience may be facing.
Agitate: Aggravate the problem's impact to emphasize its significance.
Solution: Introduce your product or service as the solution to the identified
problem.
BAB (Before-After-Bridge):
Before: Describe the situation or problem your audience is currently facing.
After: Paint a picture of what life could be like after using your product or
service.
Bridge: Introduce your product or service as the bridge that can take them
from 'before' to 'after.'
CHAPTER THREE
Frameworks that
work on LinkedIn
Bonus Tip:
The skeleton of your post should look like:
Hook
Body
CTA
However, to make it interesting and attention grabbing, follow Jasmin Alic’s
method of treating the beginning of your content body as the sub-hook.
Imagine opening a door to the party, that door is your hook. It should be inviting.
Now, imagine yourself kicking a door behind to close it as you enter. That’s the
sub-hook. It should make you want to go deeper and have the time of your life.
CHAPTER FOUR
Content Format
Content Formats
Text
Text + Image
Text + Video
Video
Carousels
Infographic
Bonus tip:
2024 is going to be the year of video content. Dive in, experiment, analyse and
see if it works for you.
CHAPTER FIVE
Posting Strategy
How Often?
Decide: 7 posts, 5 posts, or a chill 3. Your call.
Stick to It
Once you decide, stick with it. Consistency is the name of the game.
Check & Adjust
See what people like. If something isn't clicking, change it. Analyse. Adapt.
Make it Count
Quality over quantity. Share stuff that matters.
That's it. Now, go post and be awesome!
CHAPTER SIX

By the end of it, you’ll thank me or rather Chris Do for it.
1/ Pick 2 dark horrific shadow words
→ Words that define the traits in you that you are embarrassed of.
→ Those that trigger your emotional response negatively
Eg - insecure, people pleaser, inferiority complex etc
2/ Pick a transformer word
→ The positive words
→ Those that represent transformation
Eg: Proud people pleaser, boldly insecure etc
When you reveal you don’t like (xyz) about yourself,
But you have learnt to accept and embrace it
→ You bring together a community
→ You tune into people’s need
→ You start a movement
