A) Read “The Princess who can´t dance”.
In a small country there is a King and a Queen and their beautiful daughter, Princess Leonora. The Princess
is beautiful and has lots of friends. On her sixteenth birthday the King and Queen prepare a big party to
celebrate Leonora’s birthday.
Leonora
The King invites his friends and family and the Queen makes the most beautiful dress and
the most beautiful shoes for Leonora. But Leonora is not happy.
‘Why are you sad, Leonora?’ asks the Queen.
Leonora has a secret. She can’t dance.
‘What will people say when they see I can’t dance?’ she thinks.
One day she sees a girl in the forest. She is singing and dancing.
“What is your name?” asks Leonora. “Gisella,” says the girl.
“I am Princess Leonora and I live in the castle. Can you teach me how to dance?”
Gisella gives Leonora a pair of red shoes and tells her they are magic. “With these shoes
you will dance, Leonora” says the girl.
The day of her birthday, Leonora puts her new red shoes on and starts dancing. The King
and the Queen look at her. They are very happy. All her friends dance with her. “I can dance!!”, she shouts.
Leonora is so excited that she invites Gisella to live in the castle with her. Gisella has a secret. The shoes
are not magic shoes but now, Leonora is the best dancer in the country!
