Fire accident - Kumbakonam

A total of 94 students of the primary section School were burnt to


death in their classroom as the thatched roof caught fire on
16 July 2004.The accident was the one of the four major
fire accidents and largest school accident in Tamil Nadu.

 Starvation - Removal of fuel, surrounding materials are removed

 Blanketing / Smothering - Removal of Oxygen, cuts OFF the contact between

fuel & oxygen

 Cooling - Removal of Heat


 Carbon dioxide ( CO2)
 Dry chemical powder ( DCP)
 Mech Foam
 Fire hydrant
 Sand bucket
