GOOD MORNING EVERYONE, GOOD DAY TO OUR DEAR PANELIST, IN PARTIAL

FULFILLMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS IN PRACTICAL RESEARCH 1 UNDER

THE ACADEMIC STRAND ACCOUNTANCY BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT, WE
PRESENT TO YOU OUR RESEARCH PROPOSAL, AND OUR RESEARCH TITLE IS
THE EFFECTS OF INFLATION TO THE A.B.M STUDENTS

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

The inflation rate is the percentage by which prices increase overall within a
specific period. It shows how the purchasing power of money decreases over
time. When prices rise, known as inflation, it affects various aspects of the
economy like the cost of living, business operations, borrowing, mortgages,
bond yields, and more, leading to uncertainty and diminishing the value of
savings. Inflation's negative impact on output stems from the resulting
instability in the economy, making it harder for businesses to plan effectively
and reducing their investments.

The research aims to understand how inflation affects the financial literacy
and decision-making skills of A.B.M. students. It also evaluates the
effectiveness of current educational approaches in addressing inflation within
the A.B.M. curriculum to better prepare students for future roles in finance
and business management.

This goal includes assessing the current coursework, teaching methods, and
materials to pinpoint areas for enhancement or additional focus. It involves
evaluating how inflation affects the financial literacy and decision-making
abilities of A.B.M. students by analyzing its impact on pricing, investment
strategies, and consumer behavior. The aim is to provide students with
practical insights relevant to their future careers in finance, business
management, and entrepreneurship.

What is the aim of evaluating the existing coursework, instructional methods,

and materials?

The aim of evaluating the existing coursework, instructional methods, and

materials is to identify areas that may need improvement or additional
emphasis. This evaluation helps ensure that students receive a
comprehensive understanding of how inflation influences financial literacy
and decision-making skills, preparing them for their future roles in finance,
business management, and entrepreneurship.

The second goal of the research is to evaluate the effectiveness of current

educational approaches in addressing the implications of inflation within the
A.B.M. curriculum. This involves assessing the existing coursework,
instructional methods, and materials to pinpoint areas for improvement or
additional emphasis. By measuring the success of the current educational
strategies, the research aims to offer recommendations for enhancing the
curriculum, guaranteeing that A.B.M. students receive a relevant and
impactful education on the effects of inflation

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

In this study, we will investigate the financial and psychological impacts of

inflation on A.B.M. students at Misamis Occidental National High School.
Using a case study design, we aim to understand coping strategies, propose
solutions, explore the link between inflation and academic performance, and
examine long-term effects on career choices and financial decisions. Through
purposive sampling, questionnaires, and thematic analysis, we will gather
insights on how inflation influences students' financial decisions and future
plans. This research seeks to provide valuable information to enhance
educational practices and support students in navigating inflation-related
challenges.

RESEARCH DESIGN

This study employs a descriptive qualitative research approach using the

case study method design by Merriam (1988) to investigate the effects of
inflation on A.B.M. students. Descriptive qualitative research, as
characterized by Merriam (1988), involves a detailed and comprehensive
description and analysis of a specific occurrence, event, or social unit. The
study aims to provide in-depth information about the phenomenon under
examination, focusing on the individual, group, or school being observed.
This design allows for a nuanced exploration of the unique experiences and
perspectives of each participant, capturing diverse effects of inflation on
A.B.M. students.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENT

The researchers will administer interview questions to the A.B.M. students,

with the fundamental question of the study serving as the foundation for
constructing these inquiries. Respondents will be given open-ended
questionnaires to allow them the freedom to elaborate on their responses.
These interview questions are designed to complement the problem
statement and gather detailed insights from the students regarding the
effects of inflation on their financial literacy and decision-making skills.

DATA ANALYSIS

The data is analyzed following Merriam's (1998) approach, which involves

deconstructing and giving meaning to the collected information. Merriam
emphasizes categorical aggregation, clustering data into categories to find
patterns and themes. Thematic analysis is used to identify patterns and
connections within the data, helping researchers uncover themes, common
responses, and significant patterns that address the research questions.
