ADDENDUM
In continuation to this office earlier Advertisement No. E-392562/1 published in
the local dailies vide No. Janasanyog/D/15293/23/27-Dec-23, dated – 27.12.2023, this is
for information to all concerned that the break-up of the post of Graduate Teacher for
recruitment in the Government Secondary Schools under the Directorate of Secondary
Education, Assam, are as follows:-

Total 226 nos.
Further, minimum Educational and Professional Qualifications for direct recruitment
in the post of Graduate Teacher (Mathematics) will be as follows:-
1. A Graduate Teacher (Mathematics) shall have a Graduation Degree in Science with honour or major in
Mathematics and having Physics, Chemistry or Biology as pass course or minor subject in the Graduate
level courses or Post Graduation Degree in Mathematics from a recognized University with Honours or
Major in Mathematics having Physics, Chemistry or Biology as pass course or minor subject with at
least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation and must have the Bachelor of Education
([Link].) degree from Institution(s) recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education.
2. In pursuance of the Govt. OM No. ASE.238/2014/213, dtd. 22.11.2019, those institutions having
territorial jurisdiction outside the State of Assam but having a study centre in the State and such study
centers if not recognized by DEC under UGC, the degrees / certificates issued by such off campus
institutions shall not be considered as valid for the purpose of employment under Education Department.
However, degrees / diplomas conferred by KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL under Gauhati University and
Distance Education under Dibrugarh University shall be considered as valid for the purpose of
employment.
1. How to apply:-
i. Interested candidates are requested to go through the terms and conditions of the
advertisements and may apply through the official website at
[Link] No other means/ mode of Application will be
accepted and the Application will be summarily rejected.
ii. The Online Application will be accepted from 21st October 2024 (11.30 AM) to
15th November 2024 (midnight).
iii. No Multiple Applications shall be accepted.
iv. For any other issues related to online application, further instruction shall be
intimated through application portal only.

i. Application will not be considered, if fee is not paid for the application.
ii. Fee once paid, shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
3. For Government Employee of the State of Assam:-
i. Candidate already in Govt. service, in order to prove their employment,
must upload a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” against the applied
post, issued by the competent authority.
ii. NOC after filling of online application shall not be entertained.
4. Persons with Disability (PwD): -
i. Candidates with OH (Orthopaedically Handicapped) with at least One Arm
and One Leg, LV (Low Vision), HI (Hearing Impaired) will be considered
under reservation category having minimum 40% of relevant disability.
ii. The final selection of PwD candidates shall be subject to further medical
examination.
iii. The PwD candidate claiming reservation under PwD category must bring a
PwD Certificate/ UDID Card issued by competent authority. PwD
candidate eligible for scribe have to obtain a certificate from concerned
District Commissioner.
5. Additional Information: -
i. The degrees/ programmes/ courses duly recognized by the UGC shall only
be accepted.
ii. The District-wise, Medium-wise, Subject-wise and Category-wise break-
up of advertised vacancies will be notified in the official website at
[Link] in due course of time.
iii. There will be no preference of Districts for appointment. It will be decided
by way of randomization.
iv. The examination will be of 2½ hours duration and will consist of 140
questions of 1 mark each.
v. There shall be negative marking of 0.25 marks per question for wrong
answer as well as selecting more than one option of a question.
vi. Question paper will be given in multi-lingual form, viz. Assamese,
Bengali, Bodo, English medium, however in case of confusion/
discrepancies, the English version shall be treated as authentic version.
vii. No TA/ DA will be admissible for appearing in the Examination.
viii. The Examination Venue district will be Cachar, Dibrugarh, Jorhat,
Kamrup, Kamrup Metro, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nalbari and

Sonitpur. Candidate will have to select his/ her Examination Venue
district during filling up of online application form.
ix. All the applicants should have Employment Exchange Registration
Number. However, those who have applied for the Registration Number
but not yet received, they will also be allowed to apply but they have to
obtain Employment Exchange Registration Number mandatorily before
appointment.
x. There will be a common Recruitment Test for all Graduate and Post
Graduate Teachers, both for Government and Provincialised Schools.
Hence, a final merit list will be prepared in respect of Government and
Provincialised Schools.
xi. For verification of qualification and other particulars of the candidates, a
draft merit list will be published with a ratio of 2 candidates against one
vacancy. Thereafter, after verification, a final merit list will be prepared
from the draft merit list as per the outcome of the verification report and as
per the merit in the draft merit list in the ratio of 1:1.
xii. Preparation of Merit list:
a) Merit list of candidates for Graduate Teacher/ Post Graduate Teacher
shall be based on the total of marks obtained in the TET cum
Recruitment Test and as per selection criteria mentioned in the earlier
advertisement.
b) For selection of the last candidate or determining merit, where a
specified number of candidates have to be selected, if two or more
candidates have same marks, the following procedure shall be
followed:
The candidate obtaining higher marks in the written examination shall
be selected;
If selection could not be made after following the above process, the
candidate with earlier date of birth shall be selected;
If the selection could not be made even after following the above
process, the selection may be made by a draw of lots by the Director of
Secondary Education, Assam.
xiii. The candidate already got selection in the post of Post Graduate Teachers
shall not be considered again for the post of Graduate Teachers.
xiv. According to merit position, the vacancies of Government Schools will be
filled first from the merit List and thereafter posts of Provincialised
Schools will be filled.
xv. The other terms and conditions stipulated in the earlier advertisement will
remain the same.
