MATH100 INTRODUCTORY CONCEPTS OF MATHEMATICS 32
This course covers basic treatment of trade math beginning with
general math, fractions, decimals, ratios and percentages. Early
layout theory in spacing of framing using linear measurements and
quantitative material take-off is introduced.
Students must complete both classes to receive credit.
ARCH100 ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS & BLUEPRINT READING I 32
This course will build upon the students’ basic mathematics,
trigonometry, measurement skills and knowledge by accurately
using math when reading blueprints. Reading blueprints,
measuring, layout, fabrication and other functions specific to the
carpentry trade require accurate calculations and measurements
for the success of any job. Reading blueprints accurately will
contribute to a timely and successful job.
Students must complete both classes to receive credit.
SFHT100 OSHA30 32
This course provides entry level construction workers with a
general awareness on how to recognize and prevent hazards on a
construction site. The training covers a variety of construction
safety and health hazards that a worker may encounter at a
construction site. Students earn OSHA30 certifications.
CONT100 TOOLS AND MATERIALS 16
This course will introduce students to the tools and materials
essential to the carpentry trade. Students will learn about the use,
cleaning and maintenance of power and hand tools. Additionally,
students will begin working with lumber and other essential
materials learning to shape and cut to specified measurements.
Students must complete both classes to receive credit.
CONT101 CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGIES I 72
This course will introduce students to interior layout, metal
framing, drywall construction and concrete wall forms. Students
will engage in activities including measuring and marking cutting
lines on materials using sketches, prints or building plans. Students
will also learn how to properly use plumb bob, levels and lasers.
Students must complete all 3 classes to receive credit.
CONT190 CONSTRUCTION INTERNSHIP I 1800
This course consists of paid OJT, internship, or practicum performed
in a business, industry, trade, or technical career setting within the
student’s occupational area. The contact hours experienced
through on-the-job training will be verified by an employer or union

ARCH110 ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS & BLUEPRINT READING II 24
Using structural drawings, students will determine elevations to
footers and foundations. The engineering behind what type of
foundation is required to support a structure will be reviewed.
Students will work with engineered shop drawings and apply them
to architectural designs. Finally, students will be exposed to ANSI,
ASTM, ACI testing methods.
CONT110 CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGIES II 48

MATH120 INTRODUCTORY CONCEPTS OF TRIGONOMETRY 48
This course focuses on the close relationship between right angle
trigonometry and exterior building layout. The course also covers
Program Arc layout using Pythagorean Theorem, 3-4-5 right angle
layout and arc scribe. Students will also be able to demonstrate
units of angular measurement and how it is used for building
layout. Finally, the course will cover the Cartesian Coordinate
Plane to determine coordinate values for building points.
Students must complete both classes to receive credit.
SFTH200 INFECTIOUS CONTAINMENT RISK ASSESSMENT (ICRA) 24
The Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) course is an
advanced class that teaches best practices for minimizing
infection spread through construction on high-risk job sites.
SFTH210 INTRODUCTION TO CRANE, RIGGINGS AND SIGNALING SAFETY 16
This class will cover safety, wire rope, chain construction, slings,
hardware, and knot tying techniques. Common hitch
configurations, hardware and sling attachments, and working
with different types of cranes and hand signals will also be
covered.
CONT210 TOTAL STATION 40
This course covers setup and operation of total station
equipment and its application to field layout. Students will be
required to solve for Northings and Eastings using R-P. Students
will enter blueprint layout into data collector and use with Total
Station.
CONT215 DOORS AND DOOR HARDWARE 24
This course covers door and hardware installations in both rough
and finish openings. Students will be required to complete these
installations using a variety of hand and power tools.
CONT220 CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGIES III 40
Students will be introduced to concrete placement and formwork
projects such as bridge abutments, hammerheads, caissons, used
in the heavy and highway environment.

MATH130 ESTIMATING CONCEPTS 24
This course focuses on volume formulas for concrete and earth
removal estimating, frustums, cylinders and cones. Students will
prepare a final estimate of a nine-story commercial building.
Students will be required to estimate concrete volumes for a
variety of shapes and sizes. The study of steep angles of descent
relative to the horizontal plane to which a material (concrete) can
be piled without slumping will be covered.
Students must complete both classes to receive credit.
SFTH220 CONFINED SPACE 24
This course addresses how to protect students from the hazards
posed by working in or around confined spaces, including
requirements for training, identification and assessment of
confined spaces, and rescue. Upon completion, learners will be
certified in the OSHA Standard 1926 Subpart AA.
SFTH230 AERIAL LIFTS AND FORKLIFT TRAINING 16
This hands-on qualification workshop combines classroom
instruction to train students in the safe operation of scissor lifts
and boom lifts in compliance with OSHA standards. This is a hands-
on forklift training course. Topics covered are load capacity, hand
signals, safe operating techniques, equipment, and job-site
inspections. Please note: This qualification course is in preparation
for Department of Transportation licensing
Students must complete both classes to receive credit.
CONT210 WELDING TECHNOLOGIES 40
In this course, students learn how to navigate the hazards
associated with arc welding and Oxy-Fuel cutting. Students learn
to recognize and identify common weld symbols. The class will
also review electrode holders, guns, torches and the proper way to
hold them and use them.
Students must complete both classes to receive credit.
CONT215 CEILINGS 24
This hands-on course introduces students to codes and industry
standards related to ceiling installations. Topics covered are
materials identification, job planning, print reading, laser

technology, layout, and installation of exposed-grid ceilings.
Students will also be introduced to metal work for constructing
overhead soffits and barrel ceilings.
CONT220 FOREMAN TRAINING 32
This course will introduce students to the communication and
interpersonal skills necessary to becoming an effect foreman.
Topics include: job planning, scheduling, reporting requirements
and crew managements. Interpersonal skills such as conflict
resolution, problem solving and negotiations will also be explored.
ARCH 200 CIVIL, STRUCTURAL, ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS AND 32
SPECIFICATIONS
This class covers advanced foundation engineering, along with the
specifications governing the strengths and reinforcements
required. In depth use of specifications, grading and staking using
civil and structural drawings, CPM scheduling, Schedule of Values,
and Change Orders.
