Paint shall be applied as per the specification and to Manufacturer’s specification

and instructions.

Curing, protecting the painted surface, adjacent work and thoroughly cleaning of
the premises.

Paint shall be ready mixed and of first quality of the approved brand and
manufacturer. The paint shall generally conform to the chemical composition and
other characteristics laid down in the relevant Indian standard specification. It is
desired that materials of one manufacturer only shall be used as far as possible
and paint of one shade be obtained from the same manufacturing batch. All
paints shall be subjected to analysis from random samples taken at site from the
painter’s bucket, if so desired. Any materials found not conforming to the relevant
specification shall have to be removed by the Contractor from the site at no extra
cost.

All primer coats shall be compatible to the material of the surface to be finished
as well as to the finishing coats to be applied.
All coats shall be thoroughly dry before being sand papered or before the
succeeding coat is applied. Coats of painting as specified are intended to cover
surfaces perfectly. In case the surface is not covered properly by applying the
specified number of coats, further coats shall be applied by the Contractor when
so directed by the Engineer at no extra cost.

Painting shall be done by skilled labourers in a workman like manner. All

materials shall be evenly applied so as to be free from sags, runs, crawls, or
other defects. All coats shall be of proper consistency and shall be well brushed
out, so that no brush marks are visible, except varnish and enamels which shall
be uniformly flowed on. The brushes shall be clean and in good condition before
application of paint. Final Coat Paint should be done before Handing Over

The rate to include the following

(a) All surface preparation, suitable number of base coats required, primers
and suitable finishing to the complete satisfaction of the Engineer in
Charge
(b) Scaffolding and all leads and lifts

(c) Proper curing in between the two subsequent coats

(d) Touch ups to the paint after the scaffolding is removed

(e) Minimum Guarantee of TEN Years for all external paints on requisite stamp
paper
(f) All measurements for paints to be as per IS-1200-Part V

All Paints and coatings used in the interiors of the site should have the following
VOC content limits. A list of all the paints and Coatings used in the project is to
be submitted along with the manufacturer’s certificate for the prescribed VOC
limit as per technical specifications.

Architects instructions.

For all staircase treads and risers, the stone shall be in one piece unless
otherwise specified. It is the duty of the contractor to measure the dimensions at
site before ordering the said materials.
All bull nosing, polishing etc for sills, frames and staircase treads should be
factory finished and brought to site.
All the joints for all flooring to run in a straight line and should not exceed 1.5mm
for stones and 1mm for tiles and should be filled with grouts to the full depth
(except for specifications using spacers where the joint width to be as per BOQ
specifications)
For all White Marble flooring, skirting, treads and risers use White Cement float

In case the client /Architect negotiates for the basic rate of materials at a lower
rate than the one mentioned in the BOQ the difference in the basic rate will be
refunded by the contractor.

The rate for all the flooring, skirting and dado items (whether specifically
mentioned or not) to include
(a) All materials, labour, surface preparation, working at all levels, tools and
plants, machine polishing for stones like Marble, Kota
(b) Providing and Covering and protecting the floor surface during execution of
other activities using Cello or approved equivalent bubble guard of minimum 500
GSM thick (minimum size 8’ x 4’), fixing the same over floor surface with mastic
tape or other approved adhesive. The rate shall include the cost of removing
protective layer during handing over or as directed, disposing of debris will be as
per GCC
'(c) Grouting the joints as mentioned in the individual items
(d) Soaking the tiles in water for at least two hours before laying
(e) Curing
(f) Cleaning the surface
(g) Cleaning and disposing off the debris at all location as detailed out in the
GCC
(h) In case adhesives are used for flooring, the rate to be inclusive of extra
cement bedding required to match the existing levels. In case, adhesives are
used for cladding on walls, the rate to include backing coat plaster in cement
mortar 1:3, to bring the wall in proper plumb, line and level.
(i) Any additional mortar or concrete required to bring the surface to the required
level and gradient before laying the base mortar at no extra cost.
(j) The Contractor to do line out mark for Dado Walls before laying of plumbing
lines as per drawing.
(k) The contractor must confirm the location of all ducts, raceways, junction box
etc before laying the tile by co- coordinating with service vendors and project
manager.
(l) Cost to include making any niches, openings, cut-outs for fixing sensors,
concealed cisterns or any other preparatory work required and asked by the
Architect / Engineer in charge
(n) Necessary cut-outs for pockets, openings, trenches, pipes etc. shall be
provided without any extra cost.
(o) The quoted rates shall include for providing and laying bedding / backing
mortar / plaster.
(p) Unless instructed otherwise, the skirting, tiling, dado shall be provided flush
with finished wall/column surface without any extra cost.

the stringers on to the pedestal head using fully threaded screws ensuring
maximum lateral stability in all directions, the grid formed by the pedestal and
stringer assembly shall receive the floor panel, this system shall provide
adequate solid, rigid support for access floor panel, the system shall provide a
minimum clear uninterrupted clearance between the bottom of the floor for
electrical conduits and wiring etc. all complete as per the architectural drawings,
as specified and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge.

(c) Providing and fixing Access Floor panel of 600x600x32 mm medium grade
