Scene 1: Bedtime
Skit begins with a mother reading a bedtime story to her young
daughter. The daughter lies on the bed while the mother holds a
book in her hand, sitting next to her on the bed.
Mother: And that, my dear, is the beautiful story of the beauty and
the beast, as they lived happily ever after.
But as always fairy tales couldn’t stray more from reality, and life
doesn’t always revolve around a princess.
Anyway, It's bedtime now, goodnight sweetheart.
(The daughter snuggles under the blanket and falls asleep. The
mother gently closes the book and turns off the light.)
Scene 2: The Dream
The daughter falls asleep and starts dreaming, in the dream, she
wakes up and finds herself near Belle and Prince Adam. She
approaches them with a curious look.
(The daughter finds herself in a dream world, standing in front of
Belle and the Beast in the grand ballroom of the enchanted castle.)
Girl: Are you Beauty and the Beast?! Mommy always tells me stories
about you! She said fairy tales are always about the princess, but I
always wanted to hear your side of the story...(Pouting, with pleading
look in her eyes)
Beast: (Smiling) Ah, yes. My story. It's a tale of pride, mistakes, and
redemption. I was once a prince, consumed by my own ego and
arrogance. I didn't understand the value of kindness, compassion,
and love.
Belle: (Adding) And I was a bookworm who longed for adventure and
connection. We both found what we were looking for in each other.
Beast: I was once an arrogant king, boastful in many ways. I
considered beauty and wealth as my best feature.
Scene transitions to the castle, background characters enter the
stage, Belle and the child leave. It's a party night, everyone is dancing
together, music in the background.
Beast: (narrating) It was a stormy night...
*Enter old lady*
Old lady: M'lord! Will you please be kind enough to provide me
shelter from this torrential rain for one night?
Prince Adam: (Fuming) Who let this ugly old hag enter my castle?!
You disgrace this place merely by your presence. Someone get her
out of my sight. NOW!
The old Woman: This was a trial of the divine, to obtain a judgement
on your soul, and you once again proved yourself to be unworthy of
all you have.
I curse you, to lose all you pride yourself over, to lose this kingdom
you prove yourself unworthy of. You, shall live as naught but a
hideous creature of the night.
You, must learn to love another, and earn the other’s love, but
To be human again, you shall forget the one you love.
Or remain a beast but keep your memories and love.
*Dramatic Music intensifies*
*Adam becomes the beast*
Scene 3:
Beast (narration): My worlds felt to have been shattered at that
moment, everything I have ever had, I lost in a second. I couldn’t
even look at myself in this hideous form, how could anyone ever love
a beast?
And why, would someone choose love over their very humanity?
Over everything they stand for?
Yet, it all changed, the moment I laid my eyes upon belle.
