PRACTICE EXERCISE ON BIT LOGIC
DEVELOPE A LAD AND CHECK YOUR PROGRAM:-
1. Four concept of start- stop switch under the following conditions:-
START STOP
NO NC
NO NO
NC NC
NC NO
2. Switch on and off a motor with Single pushbutton (Using OSR).
3. Single button on and off using OTL and OTU.
4. A lamp is to be switched from any of the two locations.
5. A motor goes on when two switches are pressed.
6. Design ladder logic for the equation Y = AB̄ + Ā B.
7. When car's any one of the door is opened a cabin light comes on.
8. Push buttons 5, 6 and 7 are pressed to switch on a lamp. Lamp remains on even the push buttons 5 and 7 are
released.
9. When three switches are pressed, a lamp goes off.
10. When a water tank is empty, the two Sensors S1 & S2 goes on and a motor is switched on. When the water
level comes on above S1, it goes off, but motor remains on. When the level goes above S2, the motor goes
off. Design a ladder in such a way that even the water level comes down below S2 motor should remain off
and it should come on only when the water level come below S1.
11. In the above example add inlet valve V1 which goes on when motor comes on and outlet valve V2 comes on
when the motor goes off.
12. When S1 on, M1 comes on, When S2 pressed M1 goes off and M2 comes on. When S3 pressed, M3 comes on
and M1/M2 off. When S4 pressed M1 restarts.
13. Switch S1 is for M1 and Switch S2 for M2. Design a ladder when S1 pressed
M1 - On, When S2 pressed M2 comes on and M1 off. When the M2 On, Switch on M1 so that M2 goes off
and M1 comes on.
14. When S1 pressed - M1 & M3 goes on. When S2 pressed, M2 and M3 on, when S3 pressed M2 and M1 on.
15. When S1 pressed L1 off and L2/L3 on. When S2 pressed, L2 off L1/L3 on, when S3 pressed, L3 off and L1/L4
comes On.
16. Four pushbutton stations control a fan. Each station has a start and stop button. Two door interlocks must
be closed before the fan may run. Pushing any start button will make the fan run, and the fan is sealed on
when the start button is released. Pushing any stop button turns the fan off and also prevents the fan from
starting or running.
17. Develop programs for the logic gates: (a) AND, (b) OR, (c) NAND, (d) NOR, (e) XOR and (f) XNOR.
