NGEF SF6 G-TYPE BREAKER RACK IN/OUT OPERATION
RACKING-IN OPERATION
a). “WITHDRAWN ” to “ISOLATED”
1. Push the circuit-breaker into the enclosure or fixed part until it self-locks in the
“isolated” position.
2. Locking foot pedal(2), which was automatically pressed down when the breaker
entered the enclosure or fixed part, will snap up into the “isolated” position, locking
the breaker-truck there.
b). “ISOLATED” to “SERVICE”
c). “TEST” to “SERVICE”
1. Apply the racking lever (1) to the breaker-truck at the end of a).
2. Press the foot pedal (2) down and energize the electro-magnetic (if provided),
preventing the racking-in operation.
3. Move the lever (1) backwards and forwards
4. Manually check the plug-connector coupled to the relevant socket
RACKING-OUT OPERATION
a). “SERVICE” position to “TEST” position
1. Apply the racking lever (1) to the breaker-truck, turning the hook (6) of its ratchet
gear upside down.
2. Press the feet pedal (2) down and move the lever (1) backwards and forwards
b). “TEST” to “ISOLATED” position
1. Manually uncoupling the plug-connector from the relevant socket
2. Pull the breaker fully out of the enclosure (see point c above)
3. Rack it into the enclosure again

DISCONNECTED to SERVICE position by hand:
1. Insert crank handle with integrated slip coupling and move it clockwise to its stop
or until the slip coupling reacts; the circuit-breaker is racked into its service
position.
2. Observe the position indicator on the switchgear panel
3. Remove crank handle.
SERVICE to DISCONNECTED position by hand:
1. Insert crank handle with integrated slip coupling and move it counter-clockwise to
its stop or until the slip coupling reacts; the circuit-breaker is racked into its
disconnected position.
2. Observe the position indicator on the switchgear panel
3. Remove crank handle

SIEMENS BREAKER OPERATION PROCEDURE
1. Charge the closing spring with HAND CRANK, press the “CLOSE” press knob (53) and
after closing, trip the breaker by pressing the “OPEN” press knob (54)
2. For “TEST “operations with the motor mechanism switch on the closing spring. Check
the mechanical and electrical indication of the charging state of the closing spring.
Actuate the mechanism as indicated in figure and check the mechanical and electrical
state indication.
3. Press “CLOSE” press knob (53) or the corresponding control switch until the 3AH3
vacuum circuit-breaker closes and signals this stat
4. To “TRIP” the breaker press the “OPEN” press knob (54)

SERVICE TEST
1. Open the breaker and loosen two fixing screws (1)
2. Pushing the “Trip” button pull down D/o stopper lever (2)
3. Take out D/o handle (3) from its stored place and set it on D/o lever pins
4. Pull D/o handle (3) downwards firmly till D/o Stopper levers (2) return and
breaker reaches “Test Position”
TEST ISOLATED
5. Repeat Item (2) above
6. Hold breaker pulls (5) and draws breaker till D/o stopper levers (2) return and
breaker reaches disconnected/position
ISOLATED TEST SERVICE
7. Repeat item (2) above and follow reverse operations
8. At connected position tighten two fixing screw (1) and two fixing plates (4)

To withdraw to ‘TEST’ position from ‘SERVICE’ position
1. Unlock (if necessary) and open the hinged access flap on the left hand side of
the manual trip push button to expose the interlock plates and slotted knob
2. Holding the manual trip push button depressed, turn the knob clockwise by a
screw driver. This exposes the isolating sector socket and also maintain the
trip push button in the depressed position ensuring that the breaker is locked
in the open position.
3. Insert the operating handle in the racking sector and raise to the limit of its
travel.
4. The breaker now is in the ‘TEST’ position as indicated by the mechanical
position indicator through the Perspex window. In this position the main
isolating contacts of the breakers are disengaged but the sliding LT
disconnects are engaged, permitting interlock and auxiliary circuits to be
tested.
5. Holding the trip push button depressed, return the interlock plate to its
original position by turning it anti clockwise. Opening of the hinged access
flap provided on the right hand side of manual trip push button now exposes
the operating sector socket. The breaker can now be switched ‘ON’ in the test
position.
To ‘ISOLATE’ the breakers
1. Insert the operating handle in the lower of the two sockets on the isolating
sector, now exposed by the operation described in above (3) and raise to the
limit of its travel.
2. The breaker is now in the ‘ISOLATED’ position as indicated by the
mechanical position indicator. Both main and secondary contact are isolated
in this position.
