INTRODUCTION

Hello my dear Grade 2 pupil, how are you? I hope you are excited
today as you begin your class in Christian Living. I am Sr. Cheryl D.
Lamdagan, a Franciscan Missionary Sister of the Infant Jesus. I will be your
teacher in this subject. Welcome for this School Year 2020-2021. We have a
new set up of class this year, which means that during this school year, you
will have your class in your house or you will study in your house with the
help of your parents or guardian. You are not allowed to go out of your
house in order that you will be protected from corona virus.
Can you imagine growing up alone? We grow up with our parents, our
brothers and sisters around us. Then we also welcome in our lives our
relatives and playmates. As we go to school, we meet our teachers and
classmates.
Every day we meet and become closer to our classmates and teachers.
Likewise, we learn more about God through His Son Jesus as we got to know
Him more. Let us begin with you and your family.

It is important to know who you are, and to

know the members of your family where you
belong. It is good to understand also that God
gave you a family because it is with them that
we grow. Then, we also welcome in our lives our
relatives and our playmates. A family does a lot
of activities. Parents usually cook, we eat, we
sleep and do so much more.

Activity 2 - Choose the pictures that show what you always do at

home. Color them.
A family may be small or big. What makes a family interesting?

to do together?
What do they feel towards one another?

After Mary gave birth to Jesus they went to Egypt

but later on when Jesus grew up they went back

REFLECT

There are many things that keep us busy; yet as we

work together, we become closer to one another.
Just as you and your classmates are part of a class
and the class is a part of a school community, your
family is also a part of a bigger family, a family of
believers. Hence, we are part of one big family of
God.

What is it that binds us together as a family?
