Here you can nd the user guides for the system provisioning tool Software Provisioning Manager.

Software Provisioning Manager 2.0 Versus Software Provisioning Manager 1.0

The software provisioning manager 2.0 SP13 is provided in parallel to the software provisioning manager 1.0 SP36. Both
software provisioning manager versions are part of Software Logistics Toolset 1.0 SP 36. However, they cover system
provisioning for different product versions. The decision matrix is as follows:

The software provisioning manager 2.0 is used for:

The Open Source version of Gerrit available at [Link] covers the

current functional set and, in addition, comes with many advantanges.

New customers should not use the installation with Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 any longer.
Instead, they are strongly recommended to apply the new installation procedure described in SAP
Note 2890964 .

Customers who are currently using Gerrit for XS advanced installed with Software Provisioning
Manager 1.0 are strongly recommended to migrate to the Open Source version. To perform the
migration, follow the instructions in SAP Note 2889508 .

The installation option for Gerrit for XS advanced has been removed from Software Provisioning
Manager 1.0 as of SP29.

System Copy Guides - Software Provisioning Manager 2.0

From this section you can access the system copy guides for Software Provisioning Manager 2.0.

The system copy guides for Software Provisioning Manager 2.0 describe how to create a database backup from the source
system, the transfer of the database backup to the target host, and how to set up the target system.

In the table below you can select the system copy guide for your operating system platform. You can lter the results by

SP37). If you still want to deploy SAP BW/4HANA 1.0 Support Release 1 using software provisioning manager 2.0 after
the release of software provisioning manager 2.0 SP14, you must use software provisioning manager 2.0 SP12. For
more information, see SAP Note 3220857 .

 Caution
Since SAP BW/4HANA 1.0 Support Release 1 is out of maintenance as of December 2021 and SAP BW/4HANA 1.0
Support Release 1 is the only product available on IBM i in software provisioning manager 2.0, all deployment options
