Israel and Iran Relations
Reading the media headlines today and spotting names of countries such as Israel and Iran one would
expect the article to be on their disputes or their ongoing nuclear power conflict. Due to the many
differences that countries have cultural, religious, political and economic have influenced their
relationship in so many ways throughout the history. Going back to the initial establishment of a Jewish
country in the Middle East in 1917 when the Balfour Declaration was introduced with the purpose of
doing that in Palestinian land the hostile relationships among Jewish and the Muslim world began. As
Palestinian people never accepted for Israeli to take parts of their territory, since 1947 until today Israeli is
on conflict terms with most Muslim countries. Taking into consideration the historical timeline of brutal
conflicts of Israelwith many Arab countries, specifically Iranand Israel have not always been particularly
on bad terms. David Menashri, an Israeli expert on Israeli Iranian relation, said that in the back of the
historical memory of the Israelis, when you speak about Iran, Iran is considered to be a good friend of
Israel. (Sterling, 2012) These good relationships have been largely formed based on their economic
interests where they traded goods which were significant to them such as Israeli weapons and Iran oil.
However, with the changing nature of historical events today we find Israel and Iran publically declaring
each other as enemies and constantly

Which factors led to the civil war in Spain? Why did the war breakout in July 1936?

Francisco Abadal Ramon

Section A: Plan of investigation

This paper investigates to what extent did the left wing political opposition lead to the Spanish Civil War,
1936 1939? In order to reach to a valid conclusion this investigation will be focusing on the comparison
of different factors that took place before an during the Spanish Civil War, such as the role of the
Spanish Army and the Church, the nature of the economy and the new left wing ideologies. The method
of investigation will be a detailed research of primary source evidence such as speeches, and as well

Section D: Analysis

This paper is answering to the question: to what extent did the left wing political opposition lead to the
Spanish Civil War, 1936 1939? There are many factors that influenced and that caused the Spanish Civil
War breakout, however this essay is focusing in 4 long run causes, more specifically: the role of the
Spanish Army, the role of the Church, the nature of the economy and the new left wing ideologies.

The Spanish army had a very powerful influence in politics, due to its role in Spain s imperial past. It was
likely to be compared as the protector of the nation. The Spanish army had already intervened before in
politics several times, the last one in 1936, breaking out the war. It did not have an appeal on the
working class, since they were very brutal, and more important, very expensive to maintain with very
high taxes. They were more likely to be related to the middle high class, and therefore even more
unlikely to cause an appeal on the Spanish labour force. For this labour force the Spanish Army was just
a symbol of fascist authority. After the progressive Popular Front was selected, the middle high class
already planned a military offensive against the leftists ideologies.

The second factor discussed is the role of the Church. The Church, as always has been,
Hydrochloric Acid Concentration
The Effect of Concentration on the Reaction Time of Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Thiosulphate
Introduction The speed if which a chemical reaction occurs is known as the reaction rate. When
chemical reactions occur they can either happen at a slow or fast rate depending on the chemicals. The
concentration of the chemicals has the largest effect on the rate of reaction. Concentration, which is
usually measured in mass volume per unit is referred to as the ratio of a substance. Sulphur is produced
when Hydrochloric acid and Sodium Thiosulphuric react to each other. In todays society, the rate of
reaction is relevant and needs to be taken into consideration because if the reaction time is too long it
may be impractical because today the world is considered... Show more content on [Link] ...

The Kentucky House Of Representative Candidates Forum For...
The second group I attended was the Kentucky House of Representative Candidates Forum for house
districts: 7, 11, 12, 13, and 14. This group was attended by me via online and took place on campus at
Brescia University in Owensboro Kentucky. The Candidates Forum was held on Monday October 17
from 7:00pm 8:30pm CDT. The scene was that of an auditorium with six candidates seated at a table in
the front and to what appeared to be the group moderator at a podium to the right of the room. The
camera did not focus in on much of the audiencefor me to give an accurate description, but there were
several members there to observe and many had questions for the Candidates.
The Kentucky House of Representatives Candidate Forum was an open ended group. In other words, it
was open to the public primarily because it had a political agenda for gaining voters for the Candidates
that shared their views. The Candidates Forum can be identified by several of the groups mentioned in
our text, but the two groups that I feel best fit the description are: Educational group and a Focus
Group. First, I identified it with an educational because the Candidates objective is to educate the
viewers on their political stance in the race as well as educate the viewers about important issues that
need to be addressed. Lastly, I identified it with a focus group because a focus group is closely related to
task groups and problem solving and decision making groups in that they identify needs or issues,
Thaler And Sunstein s Nudge Analysis
Thaler and Sunstein s Nudge: An Analysis In 2008, an economist from Chicago and a Harvard law
professor came together to develop an incredibly fascinating award winning book that utilizes both
behavioral economics and psychology research to explain nudges in economics. Nudge: Improving
Decisions About Health, Wealth, and Happiness, written by Richard H. Thaler and Cass R. Sunstein,
describes nudges as items that are capable of influencing individuals decisions after the utilization of
indirect suggestions and positive reinforcement. These nudges have the ability to achieve compliance
(that is not forced, mind you) of individuals in nearly every context. While I have yet to have had the
pleasure to read the entire book, I have a far... Show more content on [Link] ...
Anchoring is described as starting the decision making process at a point that you know or are familiar
with, the anchor, and then adjusting in whichever direction you believe to be correct (Thaler and
Sunstein 23). The second heuristic, availability, is an assessment of risk based on how quickly an
individual can think of examples of a given threat (Thaler and Sunstein 25). The third and final heuristic
is representativeness, which is described as the similarity heuristic . People will often employ
stereotypes when asked how similar object A is to object B, and this heuristic is used because it is
typically effective (Thaler and Sunstein 26). I d like to go more in depth on the first heuristic, anchoring,
due to the fact that it is heavily rooted in psychology priming the brain, specifically. Thaler and Sunstein
illustrate an experiment in which college students were asked two different questions the first asking
about their personal happiness and the second asking how often the individual was dating (Thaler and
Sunstein 24). The correlation had a drastic increase when the dating question was asked initially priming
the brain to associate one s love life with happiness. The dating question gives an individual a starting
point for the thought process, which gives the interviewer more
The Gamma Knife Improves Treatment of Brain Disorders...
The Gamma Knife Improves Treatment of Brain Disorders

Advanced treatment for brain tumors and brain disorders, the Gamma Knife is

a tool being utilized to treat thousands of functional brain disorders every year without the danger
involved in invasive procedures.

Not many people can say they were up and about the same day after treatment of

a brain tumor. This is now possible with the Gamma Knife, a technology utilizing gamma rays to treat
brain disorders successfully and with no incision. These requirements are essential when trying to treat
the disorders in a sensitive organ as the brain, where millimeters may mean the difference between life or
death or brain damage.

Developed in 1968 by Swedish neurosurgeon ... Show more content on [Link] ...
These procedures also require months of rehabilitation after the operation. With the Gamma Knife, all of
these problems are greatly reduced. Tumors or blood vessel abnormalities are destroyed with 0.1 mm
accuracy. Multiple tumors can be destroyed easily because the entire procedure is only about half an
hour long. A person treated in this way can also return to daily activities in just a day or two. The success
rate for controlling the tumor growth is 85 to 90 percent.

The Gamma Knife technology does not involve a knife at all. It is a 20 ton

machine with the active parts being 201 sources of radioactive cobalt 60. These gamma rays from the
cobalt 60 sources converge on the targeted tissue and destroy it. The surrounding part of the brain is left
unaffected because the individual beams are not strong enough to destroy tissue that is passed through on
the way to the target. The combined effect of the 201 beams is strong enough to destroy the abnormality
in about 30 minutes though. The gamma rays are directed by sophisticated computer technology, thereby
eliminating the sources of error that are encountered during invasive procedure by surgeons operating
manually.

The Gamma Knife was developed as a tool to improve cranial operations. Private entrepreneurs are
already known to have bought some up as forms of income. Mild abnormalities and pains are being
treated with the Gamma Knife where its use is not even
Why Was Andrew Carnegie Not A Hero Dbq
The Gilded Age started after the civil war and was an economic powerhouse. Once the war ended, many
companies started to prosper, small businesses grew larger and larger. Many of these companies that
prospered were owned by powerful individuals who ruled the nation s economy. In order to succeed in
this era, you must provide the best product at the cheapest price, if unable to you were simply driven into
bankruptcy or were bought up by hungry, successful industrialists. The Gilded agewas a period where
many people were prospering but the system was corrupt. One man who contributed to the Gilded Age
was Andrew Carnegie. Carnegie should never be considered a hero because he gave his workers
horrendous conditions, he stole ideas and made individuals... Show more content on [Link] ...
Carnegie believed that a man who dies rich is a disgrace. He does not believe that person should leave
their wealth to their children. (Document M) Andrew Carnegie gave a vigorous amounts of donations
to different charities. Giving back to charities does not make a hero a hero. He only pretended to be a
philanthropist because he did not want to die with vigorous amounts of money. (Document N) In
document O, Carnegie is giving away property to different countries while cutting his workers wages.
All the money he gave out would reimburse to his company, this is maintain due to the fact that he was
cutting his workers wages. This explains how Carnegie did not give back as much as people believe.
Andrew Carnegie did not distribute his money he redistributed. (Document P) The evidence helps me
explain why Andrew Carnegie was not a hero because he only back to the community because he
believed it was the right thing to do and would only give back to other countries by cutting workers
How Did Ben Franklin Discover Electricity In Lightning
Ben Franklin

Ben Franklin was a great inventor and discoveror. In this research paper, I will be talking about how
Ben Franklin discoverd electricity in lightning and how he contained it. Benjamin Franklin was born in
Boston on January 17, 1706. Benjamin s mother was Abiah Folger, the second wife of his father, Josiah
Franklin. Josiah had 17 children in all and Ben was number 10. Ben only went to school for 1 year and
was helping his brother, the printer, set type and sell pamphlets at 12. (The Electric Ben Franklin) In
1729, Benjamin Franklin bought a newspaper, the Pennsylvania Gazette. In
1733 he started publishing Poor Richard s Almanack, making him famous. By 1749 he retired from
business and started working on science, experiments, and inventions. ... Show more content on

The first time Franklin flew his kite, he hid inside a barn to keep dry. (Clark 2013) He caught the
lightning in a glass jar. When
Ben had first discovered electricity, he believed that it was two great forces coming togeather to make
one big force of lighting. (Dray 2005) Ben was starting to become internationally famous for his
discoveries in electricity. A little while after that, he was electrocuted by the lightning but luckly and
surprisingly it did not fry his bones. That Albanese 2 shot of lightning Ben took, well, he called it a
universal blow. He could not figure out why his whole body wouldn t stop shaking, we know now that, all
that it is, is the electral charge going through our body. (Dray 2005) The next thing that Franklin wanted to
do was figure out a way to keep the public safe. Did you know that Ben Franklin was a firefighter? One
problem for firefighters was lighting hitting the houses and starting fires. That is the reason that Ben
invented the lightnig rod. He made the first lightning rod so that when lightning would hit a house, it
would distribute the electricity throughout the ground. The lightning
A Personal Leadership Philosophy
The path to a personal leadership philosophy is made up of three parts. Each individual aspect is a facet
of a complete whole. Much like a timeline that includes a past present and future, my personal philosophy
consists of a foundation, action, and growth. If you do not understand where your foundation of leadership
came from you will have problems acting in a leadership capacity. Also if don t pay attention to how
you are acting as a leader you cannot know in what ways you need to grow. Why should I spend the
time and effort in developing myself as a leader? The Gunner s Mate rating has a strength of just over
600 members. Maritime Force Protection Unit Kings Bay has 31 Gunner s Mates assigned to it. I
have a full five percent of the Gunner s Mates in the Coast Guard that I lead. During my four year
assignment at MFPU Kings Bay approximately 55 Gunner s mates (9.2 percent) will have been under
my leadership. I see that as an enormous responsibility. As a young Gunner s Mate I saw my senior
leadership as people capable of effecting great change on the rating. Now today I am in the position to
have that same impact.

[Link] foundation of my leadership philosophy is anchored by a few key influences. The two I will
address here are as polar opposites as they come. ETCM Joe Rowe was the Chief of the Mess in Valdez,
AK as well as the ESD supervisor. Joe taught me about empowering your workforce. He understood that
he was no longer the technical expert within his
Globalization And The Middle East
Introduction

There are many significant change in the world economy occurred, marked by globalization each country
has different speed of development under different political and cultural background. During this period,
Such as the United States of America s economic status from the rapid development to the decline, then
move to the current stable trend. Brazil, Russia, India, China, which named BRCIS those developing
countries economic performances are very catch the attention in recent years. The decline and rise of
these countries commercial economy are closely related to their political culture. Therefore, it attracted
the attention of scholars and research circles.
Through reading the case: Globalization and the Middle East in John S. Hill s book, International
Business: Managing globalization, PP.124 to 132. Have had a further understanding of the political and
religious culture of the Middle East countries, and have had a research for the following questions also
written down my own opinions.

Q1: What are the major contrasts between the political and cultural institutions of the Middle East and
those of the Western world? Which do you think is the most important? Why?

Culture is not only a reflection of current social phenomena, but also is a long period of accumulation and
the formation of the creation and development of the historical heritage, such as religions, beliefs,
lifestyles, values, and so on. Therefore, different cultural backgrounds will
Firestone Essay
A business that manufacturer s products or food product is aware that some problems may transpire,
such as recalling the product due to various reasons, for example health concerns or for safety reasons.
Still a plan, especially a good crisis plan, should be implemented to be able to handle any sorts of
problems. Manufacturer companies also need to be ready to communicate the stakeholders and let them
know that they come first. However, when a plan is not firmly established or is completely ignored, the
company can jeopardize not only their reputation, but also loose financially, the way Firestone
/Bridgestone and Ford Company had to undergo. The Firestone Complete Auto Care is a company that
produces and supplies pneumatic tires for various modes of wheeled transportation and they sold the
company to Bridgestone Corporation. Nonetheless, a crisis transpired, where 6.5 million Firestone
brand tires were recalled in response to complaints the tires may be linked to fatal crashes
([Link], August 2000). These tires were manufactured and placed on Ford vehicles.
According to Simison et al. (August 2000), the Firestone brands affected are certain 15 inch Radial ATX
and Radial ATX II tires produced in North America and Certain Wilderness AT Tires with product code
P235/75R15 there were manufactured at Firestone s Decatur, IL., plant. The majority of the tires were
mounted as original equipment on Ford Explorers and other Ford light trucks. The problem is that the
Reciprocal Votional Changed By Peter Holley
I have a dad bod. Here s why women love it Peter Holley
It is a well known fact that men and women are attracted to each other, excluding homosexuals. But to
whom does the reciprocal attraction primarily apply, and are some individuals more attractive than
others? In that case, what decides that? These rather complicated questions are treated and addressed in
Peter Holley s article I have a dad bod. Here s why women love it from the 11th of May, 2015. In the
article, Holley elucidates and clarifies women s attraction to men, claiming that it exclusively and
indubitably concerns men with dad bods, for which reason they are more desirable than men who are fit.
Holley utilizes a particularly interesting language that contains informality ... Show more content on

Much more. (ll. 13 17, p. 2). In this quotation, Holley states that his latter body type has resulted in much
more success with women, which he argues for later. However, he only takes his own experiences into
account, which makes his arguments invalid and untenable. Additionally, he generalizes isolated
incidences, claiming that they apply to everybody. An example of this is seen when he outlines his friend
s success with a woman, who, according to Holley, loves his dad bod: She keeps telling me she loves
my body, he told me over the phone after things with his new woman started getting serious. She says
it turns her on! (ll. 3 4, p. 5). In this quote, we are dealing with an isolated case, for which reason it
cannot be used to say something general about women s attraction to men. Moreover, Holley uses a
research to argue for the reason that women love dad bods, after which he jumps to a conclusion that
deviates remarkably from the results of the study: The implication? When women don t have to worry
so much about threats to their survival, they instinctually go for softer and more cuddly types. (ll. 13
15, p. 4). Holley construes the research for the benefit of himself and his arguments, as men with less
masculine features are not necessarily soft and cuddly types, just like it does not mean they are in
possession of dad bods. Less manly features could instead indicate a nice or sweet personality, which
could be why women from wealthier countries have voted for them. Hence, the results of the research do
not inevitably demonstrate that women love dad bods, for
