Officer 1 (Bitin) : “Is chor ko dekho! Lagta hai ki ye chori karke aise hi bach jayega. Isko aaj sabak sikhate hain!”
Anil Yadav (gudgudate hue):
“Maine kuch nahi kiya! Mujhe chhod do. Main bekasoor hoon!”
Officer 2 : Anshuman

Police Anil ko kursi se baandh dete hain. Ek bottle mein acid aur needles nikalte hain.
Anil Yadav (cheekhte hue):

Anil Yadav (kamzor awaaz mein):
“Umesh, tujhe kuch dikh raha hai?”
Umesh:
“Nahi… nahi. Unhone mujhe andha kar diya hai. Kehte hain, main apne parivaar ko kabhi nahi dekh paunga.”
Anil:
“Yeh log humare saath aisa kyun kar rahe hain? Hum qaidiyon hain, janwaron nahi. Koi toh humein bachaye…”
Tabhi jail ka doctor aata hai, dono ka halka sa inspection karta hai, lekin bina kisi hamdardi ke. (holds their chin and shoves his
chin left to right)
Jail Doctor to guards se (Kushagra):
“Inka kuch nahi ho sakta. Yeh ab laayak nahi hain kisi ilaaj ke.”
Anil:
“Doctor saab… humein hospital bhej do. Meri aankhon mein jalan ho rahi hai. Main ab aur nahi sah paunga.”

Guards has kar cell ka taala laga dete hain. Anil aur Umesh andhere mein chup-chaap baithe hain.

kiya… wo had se zyada hai.”
Prisoner 2:
“Lekin kaun sunega humari baat? Hum toh sirf qaidiyon hain. Bahar kisi ko parwaah nahi hai.”
Prisoner 1:
“Humein koshish karni hogi. Agar hum awaaz nahi uthenge, toh yeh hamesha hota rahega. Main Patna ka ek lawyer jaanta
hoon. Agar us tak sandesh pahucha diya, toh wo hamara case Supreme Court le ja sakta hai.”
Qaidiyon ka ek group chhupke se ek letter lawyer tak pahuchane ka faisla karta hai.

Scene 4: Supreme Court Hearing
Stage courtroom mein badal jaata hai. Clerk court ko order mein lata hai.
Clerk:
“Sab khade ho jaayein! Hon’ble Supreme Court of India ka session shuru ho raha hai. Justice Chandrachud aur Justice O.
Chinnappa Reddy presiding.”
Judge enter karte hain aur apni seat lete hain.
Judge:
“Court session mein hai. Yeh habeas corpus petition ka hearing hai jo Anil Yadav aur dusri prisoners ne file kiya hai. Petitioners
apna case rakhein.”
Petitioner’s Lawyer (Pandey):
“My Lords, petitioners ko police custody torture kiya gaya hai. Police ne jaan bujh kar inki aankhon mein needles ghusai aur acid
daal diya. Yeh act inke Article 21 ke fundamental right ka khula ullanghan hai.”
Judge:
“Is baat ko sabit karne ke liye kya evidence hai?”
Petitioner’s Lawyer:
“Humare paas CBI ki medical reports, eyewitness accounts aur victims ki testimony hai. Kya main Anil Yadav ko stand par bula
sakta hoon?”
Judge :
“Permission granted”
Anil Yadav, dark glasses pehne, dheere-dheere stand par aata hai.
Lawyer:
“Anil, bataiye custody mein kya hua tha?”
Anil Yadav:
“My Lords, mujhe theft ke shaq mein arrest kiya gaya tha. Police ne mujhe torture kiya. Kursi se baandh kar needles meri
aankhon mein ghusa di aur acid daal diya. Maine raham ki bheek maangi, lekin wo hans rahe the aur keh rahe the ki yeh choron
ka anjaam hai.”
(Onlookers whispering karte hain.)
Lawyer:
“Uske baad kya hua?”
Anil Yadav:
“Mujhe cell mein chhod diya gaya, khoon se latapat meri aakhne thi aur me dard me raat bhar chilla rha tha. Koi medical
treatment nahi diya gaya. Meri aankhon ki roshni hamesha ke liye chali gayi. Aur bhi log the jo yeh bardaasht kar rahe the…”
Lawyer medical reports aur jail register submit karta hai.
Scene 5: State’s Defense and Superintendent’s Testimony
Defense Lawyer (Kumar Gaurav):
“My Lords, State in allegations ko deny karta hai. Injuries shayad khud se inflicted hain ya prisoners ke clashes ka result hain.”
Judge:
“Self-inflicted? Aap kehna chahte hain ki inhone apne aap ko andha kiya? Kya aapke paas is baat ka koi proof hai?”
Defense Lawyer:
“Is waqt nahi, My Lords.”
(Defence lawyer takes a step back)
CBI adv (priyanshu) : My lord, ye ek clear case h custodial torture ka. Medical examination cbi ke dwara confirm karta h ki anil
yadav aur 9 prisoners ke aakho me needle dala gaya aur saath hi tejab ka istemal kia gaya jiske karan inhe permanent blindness
ho gaya. Jaise state ne claim kia ki ye self inflicted h, aisa nahi h.”
Judge :
“ kya aapke pass substantial evidence h?”
CBI adv :
“yes, my lord. Humare pass verified medical report. ”
(the adv handsover a file of evidence to the bench)
“this is a gross violation of art 21 of the constitution which gurantees the right to life and dignity. The responsible officer must be
held accountable.”
Judge : (nods)
“proceed. The court will examine this evidence thoroughly. ”
(CBI adv takes a step back)
Judge:
“Jail Superintendent ko stand par bulao.”
Superintendent nervous hai.
Judge:
“Mr. Das (supreintendent), aapko in incidents ki report kyun nahi mili? Aapne medical assistance kyun nahi diya?”
Superintendent:
“My Lords, mujhe injuries ka pata nahi tha. Maine jail registers properly check nahi kiye. Police walon ka kasoor hai jo inko is
condition mein laaye.”
Judge:
“Yeh excuse nahi ho sakta! Jail mein inmates ki safety aapki zimmedari thi.”
Scene 6: Verdict and Societal Message
Judge:
“Court in custodial torture ke incidents se hiran hai. Bihar police ka yeh act ek serious violation hai Article 21 ka, jo right to life aur
dignity ko guarantee karta hai.
Court ka decision:
Victims ko turant medical treatment milega ek specialized facility mein.
Police officials ko suspend karke unki thorough investigation hogi.
State of Bihar ko har petitioner ko ₹10,000 ka interim compensation dena hoga.
Yeh case ek sabak hai ki custodial torture kisi bhi civilized society mein accept nahi kiya ja sakta. Justice zaroor milega!”
Judge gavel bang karta hai. Courtroom mein halke se murmurs hote hain.
Scene 7: Closing (Societal Message)
Ek actor aage aata hai aur audience se seedha address karta hai.
Narrator:
“Bhagalpur blindings case ne custodial violence ki kaali sachai ko expose kiya. Is case ne humein yaad dilaya ki criminal justice
system mein accountability aur reforms ki kitni zarurat hai. Yeh sirf victims ka case nahi tha—yeh Constitution ke moolyaon ki
raksha ka sawaal tha.”
