Q.1. From the given signal x(t), find and sketch even part of signal.

Q.2. Find the even and odd parts of the following signals.

a) x(n)=u(n)

b) x(n)=𝛼 𝑛 u(n)

Q.3 Let x(t) be a continuous signal and let y1(t)=x(2t) and y2(t)=x(t/2). Are the following
statements true.

a) If x(t) is periodic then y1(t) is periodic.

b) If y1(t) is periodic then x(t) is periodic.

c) If x(t) is periodic then y2(t) is periodic.

d) If y2(t) is periodic then x(t) is periodic.

Q.4 Sketch the following signals and state whether these signals are energy or power signals.

a) x(t)=2sint -∞<t<+∞

b) x(t)= 4[u(t+2)-u(t-2)]

Q.5 A discrete-time signal is given by

x(n) = {1,1,1,1,2}. Sketch even samples and odd samples of x(n).
