Below are instructions for installing Autodesk Fusion 360 on a personal computer and a lab install.

The Lab install assumes students log into a lab computer with their own credentials. Note that
Fusion is on a fast update cycle and the lab computers need to be update approximately every 6
weeks. If the lab update is not done, files updated via a personal computer may not be able to be
opened on a lab computer because the personal computer will update Fusion automatically.

Schools, teachers, students (13 and older), and mentors can access Autodesk software from
Autodesk’s Education Community for free www.autodesk.com/education. Here is a link to a

To install Fusion 360 as a student or educator on a personal Windows computer or Mac,


follow these steps
1. Create an account or login into Autodesk Education Community

educators can access Autodesk software for their personal computer (for noncommercial use) or
software for their school. This ID will be used to log into Fusion
2. When creating your account, select if you are a student, educator, or IT. Note that students can
only download software for their person computer.
3. Once logged in, you can download Autodesk software from

Option 1: To install Fusion 360 in a lab so all User Can Run Fusion
1. Create an account (as an Educator or IT person) or login into Autodesk Education Community

4. Note, for Fusion there are two versions; a version that can be installed on a computer for
individual use, and a version that can be installed in a computer lab (Fusion 360 for Educational
Institutions). On the site you will receive instruction on the lab install
Note: Fusion 360 is updated approximately every two to six weeks and regular updates to
lab installations are mandatory. On this site (step 3) you can sign up to be notified about the
update is available

Option 2: Create a Fusion Account on the Computer for All User


1. Crete a common login that everyone will use to run Fusion
2. Install Fusion as you would for an individual install from:

3. Give rights to this account to allow the updates to stream to this profile / account
4. If you are using DeepFreeze, the computers will need to be Thawed before streaming the updates
