Warm Greetings!
Vacations are indeed a time to reinvigorate and revive. However, it is also a time to enhance
the children’s creativity and innovation for the progressive learning. A balance, therefore,
must be maintained between recreation and work to ensure that the break is productive as
well as relaxing. Enjoy the vacations with fun filled indoor and outdoor activities. Share your
childhood memories with your child. Children love to hear these stories. Creative activities
like playing with clay, beads, paints and crayons are all time favourites of the children.
GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS
➢ Follow a routine.
➢ Try to converse in English.
➢ Start your day with yoga and exercise.
➢ Eat healthy and nutritious foods.
➢ Help your family in household work.
➢ Enjoy indoor games.
➢ Take good care of your health and hygiene.
1. English Literature:
Homework: Learn everything that will be coming in your first Unit Test.
Project work: (i) Write a brief introduction of William Shakespeare and mention the names of
all his plays.
(ii) Summarize the play Macbeth, Act III to V with their proper scenes. (Word limit 1000-1500
words.)
(iii) Give a brief introduction of Rabindranath Tagore and mention few names of his famous
stories. Describe the story: Atithi in short. Suppose you were in Tarapada’s place what
would you have done after staying for about two years in Motilal Babu’s house -remained
a guest or had become a family member. (Word limit 1000-1500 words.)
(iv) Give a brief introduction of Wole Soyinka and his literary career. Do you think that the
poem telephone conversation is based on the personal experience of the poet? Give
reasons to support your answer. Justify the central theme of the poem “Telephone
Conversation” (Word limit 1000-1500 words.)
(v) How significant do you think is Shakespeare’s use of imaginary in this play. In your
answer analyse 2 examples more extensively. (Word limit 1000-1500 words.)
2. English Language:
Home work: Practice everything that will be coming in Unit Test - I.
Project work: (i) Write a composition on Craze for English is justified? Do you think we
should focus on English? Write for or against. [Word limit 400-450 words]
(ii) Write a report for school magazine in about 300 words based on the points given below:
You enjoyed a picnic with your teacher and classmates stayed in a comp near a
Buddhist monastery - your discussions on Buddhist religion architecture geographical
situation your faith with religion - other activities (dance, music and cultural activities) scenes
of wild animals and birds coming back (journey to home) you may add any other details if
deemed essential.
(iii) Write a proposal in not more than 150 words for a trip to the nearest village by the
students of your class. You want the class to see the ways of village and how it is different
from the easy lives of the cities.
(iv) You have been asked to write an article in 300 words about the mountain main attractions
of the city you live in for a tourist brochure using the guidelines given below:
Name of the town connections with closest major cities by air or rail transport services,
best time of the year to visit, climate and temperature, clothes required, details of hotel
charges, sand facilities, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment.
3. Hindi:

Project work: Candidates will be expected to have completed two projects, one from Section A
and one from either Section B or Section C.

1. Using a graph, demonstrate a function which is one-one but not onto.
2. Using a graph demonstrate a function which is invertible.
3. Construct a composition table using a binary function addition/multiplication modulo upto
5 and verify the existence of the properties of binary operation.
4. Draw the graph of y = sin-1 x (or any other inverse trigonometric function), using the graph
of y = sin x (or any other relevant trigonometric function). Demonstrate the concept of
mirror line (about y = x) and find its domain and range.
5. Explore the principal value of the function sin-1x (or any other inverse trigonometric
function) using a unit circle.
6. Find the derivatives of a determinant of the order of 3 x 3 and verify the same by other
methods.
7. Verify the consistency of the system of three linear equations of two variables and verify the
same graphically. Give its geometrical interpretation.
8. For a dependent system (non-homogeneous) of three linear equations of three variables,
identify infinite number of solutions.
9. For a given function, give the geometrical interpretation of Mean Value theorems. Explain
the significance of closed and open intervals for continuity and differentiability properties
of the theorems.
10. Explain the concepts of increasing and decreasing functions, using geometrical
significance of dy/dx. Illustrate with proper examples.
11. Explain the geometrical significance of point of inflexion with examples and illustrate it
using graphs.
12. Explain and illustrate (with suitable examples) the concept of local maxima and local
minima using graph.

the details of various agency and general utility services provided by the bank.
Project 2: Formulate a capital plan for a hypothetical business organization. Justify your
formulated plan.
Group C (For Roll Numbers 17 to 24)
Project 1: Choose two companies of the same industry. Study their organizational structure.

Automobile etc) included in the NIFTY and the SENSEX. Make a chart of the same and track
its movements over a period of one week.
