1. Explain why teachers use ICT in language teaching.

Information and communication technologies (ICT) have become increasingly popular in recent
decades as a tool for teaching foreign languages. ICT stands for information and communication
technology, and it describes the use of digital technology to enhance teaching and learning. This
technology allows collaboration and communication among students and among teachers. ICT is
used by teachers to teach languages for a variety of reasons, some of which will be discussed in this
essay.

First, Technology can contribute to making learning for students more interesting and interactive.
Traditional classroom activities can be enhanced with digital resources like online quizzes, games,
and films to increase student participation and inspire them. Students can participate in group
activities and receive immediate feedback on their progress using interactive blackboards and
internet platforms, which improves their learning experience.

Second, ICT can give users a variety of significant materials and tools that might not be present in
traditional learning environments. A number of different of multimedia materials, including podcasts,
news articles, and videos, are available online that can be used to help language acquisition. By
introducing students to real-world language and culture norms, these tools can improve their
language learning and draw competency.

Third, ICT can support learning experience and consider the various needs and aptitudes of students.
Digital resources can be created to satisfy the requirements of different learners, for example, by
offering audio or visual aids to students who have hearing or visual problems. Online resources are
able to give students individual feedback and guidance so they can progress at their own time.

Finally, assimilating ICT into language teaching has several advantages for both teachers and
students. ICT has the power to completely change how languages are taught and learned, from
increasing motivation and engagement to providing the use of real materials and encouraging
individual learning to developing skills in electronic literacy. As a result, it is necessary that educators
appreciate the use of ICT in the classroom and keep looking for new and creative methods for
integrating technology.
