Procedure to use Report Configuration remotely via CLI (RAIDINF)

Environment
 Virtual Storage Platform 5x00 (VSP 5x00), RAID900
 VSP G1X00 and VSP F1500
o Virtual Storage Platform G1000 (VSP G1000)
o Virtual Storage Platform G1500 (VSP G1500)
o Virtual Storage Platform F1500 (VSP F1500)
 VSP Gx00 and VSP Fx00
o Virtual Storage Platform Gx00 (VSP Gx00): VSP G200, VSP G400, VSP G600, VSP G800
o Virtual Storage Platform Fx00 (VSP Fx00): VSP F400, VSP F600, VSP F800
 VSP N Series
o VSP N400, VSP N600, VSP N800
 VSP G130 G/F350 G/F370 G/F700 G/F900
o VSP G130, G350, G370, G700, G900
o VSP F350, F370, F700, F900
 VSP E Series
o Virtual Storage Platform E590 (VSP E590)

Procedure
Prerequisites

 RAIDINF as Export can be found in the "Customer Tools CD" that correlates to the microcode version of the
Storage. Click Here for download instructions.
 The host running the RAIDINF tool must be able to
o communicate (ping) to the storage service processor (SVP) and,
o connect to TCP ports 443 and 5443.
 Open Powershell as administrator on a client machine (not the SVP) and run commands
 Test-NetConnection -ComputerName <SVP-IP-or-FQDN> -InformationLevel
"Detailed" -Port 443
 Test-NetConnection -ComputerName <SVP-IP-or-FQDN> -InformationLevel
"Detailed" -Port 5443
 Create a Storage Navigator user dedicated to RAIDINF in the "Storage Administrator (View Only)" user
group, to avoid login conflicts with other products.

Installation Steps

1. Extract, burn, or mount the "...Customer Tools CD" .


2. Open \Config_Report_CLI\Win32\ folder.
3. Run the "setup.EXE" application.
4. Click on RUN.

5. Click Next
6. Click Next
7. Select the folder to install RAIDINF program
8. Click Finish.

Execution Steps

1. Open a command prompt


2. Navigate to RAIDINF folder, in case of default installation - Program Files (x86)\raidinf folder;

3. Execute RAIDINF login command to login in SVP


o raidinf [-h] –login <user_name> <password> –servername <hostname/ipaddress>
4. Execute one of RAIDINF commands

RAIDINF Commands syntax


raidinf [-h] <action> <object> –servername <hostname/ipaddress>
[{-report <report_name> | -report_id <report_id>}] [-targetfolder <folder>] [-fill]
raidinf [-h] –login <user_name> <password> –servername <hostname/ipaddress>
raidinf [-h] –logout –servername <hostname/ipaddress>

5. Execute RAIDINF logout command


o raidinf [-h] –logout –servername <hostname/ipaddress>
6. Close the command prompt window
