TITLE: BANA PEEL (MUSA SAPIENTUM) AND CALAMANSI EXTRACT (CITRUS x MICROCARPA) AS NATURAL
SHOE POLISHER

Abstract

My research purpose is to study banana peel and calamansi extract as a natural shoe polisher. I choose
this study because I am interested if the two ingredients are more effective as a shoe polisher than the
synthetic polish.

THE RESEARCH PROBLEM

Introduction

As a science investigatory project for research, I choose shoe polish because I want to know if we can
make natural shoe polisher that will exceed the effective than the synthetic polish. The polish has to
be resistant to corrosion, smooth, transparent, uniform in color, be adhesive, glossy and also thin. Can
natural polish prevent regular wear, causing your shoes to gradually lose their color freshness and
become permanently damaged as a result of cracks and scratches.

Background of the Study

The purpose of this study is to provide a natural shoe polisher that is made out of banana peel oil and
calamansi extract. It will serve as a natural shoe polisher. If this research proves its efficiency, people can
save money, and we can make it ourselves. This product is natural and eco-friendly because I will use
banana peel oil and calamansi extract.

GENERAL PROBLEM:

HOW EFFECTIVE ARE BANANA PEEL AND KALAMANSI EXTRACT AS NATURAL AND ECO-FRIENDLY SHOE
POLISHER?

SPECIFIC PROBLEM:

1. The efficiency of banana peel and calamansi extract as shoe polishers compared to synthetic
shoe polishers?
2. The effect of using banana peel and calamansi extract as shoe polish on a shoe material?
3. How long will the banana peel and calamansi extract last? It shines as a shoe polisher.
