Burger King Marketing Plan
Harvard Business School 9 681 045
Rev. February 27, 1998
Burger King Corporation
The first Burger King restaurant in Miami in the mid 1950s featured a walk up window, a limited
menu (burgers and shakes for 19¢, sodas and fries for 10¢), and your food ready by the time you d
paid for it. As one early manager recalled, Our windows faced front so we could see customers
driving in. With the limited menu, we pretty much knew what they d order and we d have it ready.
In the 1960s and 1970s, Burger King developed an assembly line production process that delivered a
fresh, hot, high quality sandwich, yet that had the flexibility to customize that sandwich. One
executive explained, Market research showed us that our ability to give the ... Show more content on

The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Pillsbury Company, was organized on a geographic
basis with three divisions and, within them, a region, area, and district structure. On average, for
example, five company operated restaurants reported to a district manager. The corporate
relationship with franchise restaurants had evolved from a policing function to one that included
significant consulting. Support services such as personnel, training, and accounting reported to the
regional level. Burger King restaurants varied widely in size and design, reflecting locations that
ranged from shopping malls to interstate highway intersections. Typically, each store had a unique
pattern of sales and a work force drawn from the local labor market.
The Hillybourne Restaurant
Hillybourne (a disguised location) was a New England college town with a population of about
30,000. The Burger King restaurant was located on heavily commercialized Maple Street, about one
quarter mile south of an interstate highway intersection and one and one quarter miles north of the
town center. The modern, landscaped, brick and glass building sat between a diner and a
manufacturing plant (with 200 employees) and across the street from the shopping plaza. Toward
town, Maple Street was lined with several restaurants, including a McDonald s, half a dozen car
dealers and gas stations, and a dozen small businesses. The central business district adjacent to the
college contained public
Characteristics Of A Democratic Civil Society
ACHIEVING A SOCIETY OF LEADERS
CIVIL SOCIETY
A more thoughtful public begins with the understanding of civil society and its relationship with a
democratic government. When I say civil society, I don t mean just any U.S. citizen or community.
To me, a democratic civil society represents the responsibility of each individual to stay politically
informed, to check their sources, to question information presented to them, to reflect on their
values, and to build an environment where people can come together despite differences.
Recognition of these responsibilities is what creates structure and efficiency in organizations of any
type.
It is easy to assume that the explanation of civil society above describes only leaders, whether they
may be politicians, school principals, CEOs, etc. However, I want to note that a person doesn t
have to hold these types of positions to be a leader. In a more thoughtful public, all individuals
should be open and capable of practicing these leadership skills and representing the values of
democracy. The key feature of a more thoughtful public is that it is universal no one is excluded,
and everyone is affected by it. I would argue that this is a prerequisite to a free public and successful
democracy.
As explained in chapter 10 of Roger Soder s Developing Democratic Character in the Young, there
are many types of civil societies. They range from communities in total anarchy, with a lack of
government control or power, to communities that
Descriptive Essay About The Wedding
So you want to know what the title means stay here and you can see. My grandparents decided to
surprised me with a trip going to Scotland, London, then Paris. When this happened I was overjoyed
because I was going to be able to see my cousins and one was getting married when we were there.
This trip was a two week trip from Aug. 31 to July 12. Before we left, my mom gave me a visa gift
card so I would able to buy stuff. I went to go use it and I noticed that I could only use it in the
USA. When we got there, we got settled in at our familys place. The first night we had fish and chips
on the shore of the North Sea. The first day we arrived there it was a lazy and went to go look at
shops and shop. When we shopped we shopped for hours.
My second cousin was getting married when we were there so we were there for her. They had
their wedding by the North Sea. The weather for the wedding was perfect, but it rained when we
were walking to the after party where we had a fun time. On the wedding day, my third cousin,
named Hannah, did my hair for the wedding. During the wedding all of the males in the wedding
wore kilts. We walked around in four different castles in Scotland and they all looked very similar.
The castle I liked the best was the one in Inchcolm. When we were there my papa could not wait for
bangers and mash. When we were shopping and walking around Edinburgh we saw Scottish bagpipe
player.
After all of this which was a week we went to London. The first night
Perseverance In The Odyssey
he epic hero that ventured forth from the regular world into a region of supernatural fascination
where he comes across fantastic forces and fights mysterious enemies. This describes Odysseus, the
epic hero that faced malicious creatures and life threatening events, yet exhibited heroic and
convenient traits to reach triumph successfully. In the epic of The Odyssey, Homer depicts that
Odysseus is an epic hero by confronting his enemies and accomplishing his goal in returning home
to his family using the traits of intelligence, and perseverance. In addition, his leadership trait is
significantly dignifying him in the case of proving that Odysseus is an epic hero.
In the episode of The Cyclopes, Odysseus expresses his acumen and intelligent mind to ... Show

For example, in the episode of The Sirens; Scylla and Charybdis that even when Odysseus loses
all his men, he caught hold of the [tree branch] and clung like a bat. (Homer, 431) This shows that
instead of him expressing grief on the loss of his men, he focused on surviving. This is important
because an ordinary man would mourn for his men and be in the state of despair and hopelessness
of surviving, unlike Odysseus. Thus, perseverance reveals the difference between an ordinary man
and a hero.
Perseverance is exhibited again in the episode of Circe, the Grace of the Witch, when Circe gives
Odysseus a magic drink but it does not affect him and he threatens to kill her with his sword.
(Homer, P.387) This shows that Odysseus used his mind and perseverance when dealing with Circe
and ended up creating a deal with her, which eventually saved his men. This is important because
his key quality of perseverance played a big role in his part of surviving, and without perseverance,
the story might have changed completely. Perseverance was another bold trait that identified
Odysseus as an epic
What Opticians Do
Opticians are particular specialists who constructs, fits and apportions lenses for an individual s
vision. Opticians confirm the requirements of different ophthalmic machines that will give the
important remedy to an individual s visual perception. Some enrolled or authorized Opticians
additionally plan and design unique apparatuses to improve nonessential, traumatic or anatomical

Opticians produce lenses to their own qualifications and configuration and assemble spectacle frames
and different gadgets.
Opticians advice people when they pick the casings for their glasses in their preferred taste and
colour that suits them best. They inform clients on the fit regarding specific frames. They may be
excessively huge for the individual s face, or too wide. Assuming that they fit well, opticians slice or
granulate lenses consistent with the client s prescription, then fit them into the preferred frames.
The point when clients incline toward contact lenses, opticians must take more intricate assessments
of the eyes. The shape and size of the eye influence what kind of contact lens is required. Opticians
educate clients how to implant and extract contact lenses, and also to tend to them.
Opticians are employed in various diverse settings. They may be situated in medical work places or
small businesses, or they may be in an expansive business settings or stores where numerous

Technology Plan Design
Introduction: Technology Plan Design A technology plan should set the direction for the future use
of technology as a tool for assisting School District in attaining their vision, mission, and goals. As
noted by Picciano (2011), planning should include a comprehensive approach to identifying needs,
commitment to follow through with action steps and resource acquisition, collaboration between
internal and external publics. The planshould also be a continuity between change and a connection
to the past that builds toward the futuredetailing objectives, rationale, strategies, and measurements.
This approach to planning assists in developing a technology plan through minimizing risks by
establishing basic evaluation criteria early in the process (pp 20 25) such as identification of
measurable goals and insuring that all stakeholders are involved throughout the process. Knight
(2011) and Senge (2001, 2012) recommend using a systems approach to planning and Picciano
(2011) supports this by describing an implementationmodel that defines, designs, develops and
disseminates technology in small incremental stages until satisfied that the technology is meeting
expected goals on a limited basis before implementing on a larger scale (p. 25). Using a systems
approach, a technology plan must identify operational feasibility and is often best implemented
through a pilot or phased in process. While a technology plan can look excellent on paper,
identifying needs,
Opposing Views On Abortion
Abortion has always had many views and opinions on it. Abortions have been performed for
more than a hundred years. In the late 1800 s is when some states began passing laws for making
abortions legal. People, still to this day, have tried fighting to make abortions illegal. There are
two categories on people s opinions for abortions. The people who are for abortion are pro choice.
The people who are against it are pro life. Some people think abortions are morally wrong.
Another view is abortion is a human right . The issue with abortions today has moved from a
medical procedure to a means of gaining political power. The issue with people who are against
abortion, pro life, let their religious views and opinions get in the way of what s... Show more content

Keeping abortions legal will keep things safe. Abortion is a private matter between a woman and
her doctor. Human rights are guaranteed for everyone. Ant abortion laws cause stress for families
that don t have the resources for a baby. Abortions are safe medical procedures. The overall
abortion complication rate is low, and about 25 times lower than child birth (pro choice action
network). A recent study has shown the majority of women, 88%, who have abortions do it in
their first trimester. The medical abortions have had less than a 0.5% risk of serious complications
(10 arguments for and against abortions). Abortion is not a form of contraception. Adoption is not
an alternative to abortion. It will still be up to the woman to decide to give her child up for
adoption. Statistics have shown that few women who give birth choose to give up their babies. In
some cases woman are advised from their doctor to proceed with an abortion due to medical reasons
either with the mother or child. Abortions becoming illegal will not stop procedures from happening.

I Heard A Fly Buzz When I Died Essay
Emily Dickson I heard a fly buzz when I died is an elegy written from the perspective of the
speaker who is already a dead person who is reflecting back on the last moments of her life and the
moment of her death. The poem uses specific language, descriptive visual and aural imagery, and
other poetic devices to convey confusion and frustration that speaker s experience as at the very end
accepting that their life is coming to an end, a fly came into their notice and disturbed their final
moments.
To start in the poem all the lines are written in iambic meter. Also, there are four sections or stanzas,
each with four lines. As well as every stanza in the first and third line having iambic tetrameter and
the second and fourth line having iambic trimeter with many of the lines in the poem having dashes
to break up the flow of the meter and indicate short pauses. The first stanza of the poem starts with
the speaker describing their death first talking about how death hears the sound of a fly, as it flies
through the air in the silent room. The very first line of the poem informs the reader that the
experience in this poem is being described from a unique and strange point of view. When first
reading this poem you can tell that this won t be a typical elegy poem, because from the very first
line the speaker focuses on the sound of a fly, something that most people would consider trivial
during an incident of such overwhelming importance as one s own death. This
