Choices By Nikki Giovanni
Even though someone is unhappy with their situation could they make the best out of it? Well, Nikki
Giovanni, an African American poet, wrote the poem Choices which is speaks about how success
comes from doing things people are not satisfied with. In addition, if someone does not become the
person they wantto be they can still be grateful for the things that they possess because regardless
there is still more to want. The choices that people make may not be a choice someone is
expected to have, but it s all about making the best of it. Nikki Giovanni may have not come from
the best life, but she made a living out of it by becoming a civil rights activist and a poet. The
theme that Nikki Giovanni is trying to emphasize is that happiness can come from the life people
never expected, but if one is grateful for the life they have then its self satisfying. Happiness can
come from being humble which is showing a modes or low estimate of one s importance.
Furthermore, being optimistic which is a disposed on taking a favorable view of events or
conditions and to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being positive are ways people can get through certain obstacles as well because they are
expecting good things to happen. Furthermore, optimism can make you more persistent because
people try to figure out what they can do to make the situation better or how can they learn from
the struggle? In the poem, Nikki Giovanni learned to be optimistic because in the 1st and 2nd
stanza, If I can t do what I want to do then my job is to not do what I don t want to do it s not the
same thing but it s the best I can do. In these lines, she is still trying to be optimistic with her life
because even though she is unhappy it was the best she could do, so she is going to not let the
negativity affect
Cake Decorating Book Review
Carpenter Autumn. The Complete Photo Guide to Cake Decorating. Minneapolis, MN: Creative
Pub. International, 2012. Print.
In this book of 330 pages it describes how to decorate cake cookies .She shows all the material that
will be need for decorating a cake. The brushes should be used only for cake decorating. Brusher #2
(skinny) is only to paint details onto the cake, there are too many brushes that you can use. The
cake slicers are used to divide a cake layer for torting (torting means splitting or cutting the layers of
your cake). Cutters are available to create accents for cakes; cutters cut gum paste and make it into
3D accents. Spatula is a thin spatula about 10 or 12 diameters, the spatula used to easily lift the
cake. Use a large rolling pin to roll fondant, silicon pin works good for pastry and cookie.
This book is easy to understand because it shows pictures of the tools and explains what the tools
are for. What she says was interesting because she says that you need to have one brush for every
part of the cake.

Never get the fondant wet. You need to leave the cake outside for a few minutes so that it cools
first before you put the fondant. Once you cover the cake with frosting roll the fondant until you
have the sides of the cake covered. When you put the fondant on the top of the cake you need to roll
and smooth the top with your hand carefully. Once you finish putting the fondant on top of the cake,
you can buy the equipment in the store to decorate the sides and put some flowers on the top of the
cake. Then you need to put the fondant around the cake to cover
Billy Pilgrim s Slaughterhouse-Five
To be born human is to suffer endlessly in the hands of other individuals, this suffering knows no
bounds. From the inception of the Upright man, and onward into the twilight future of uncertainty,
there lays death and destruction in its path. The human capacity for empathy can transform into
manifested hatred with words and actions of a minority few. This behavior is not just exclusive
to people, aggressive ant species such as fire ants will relentlessly assault other ant colonies to
compete for scarce resources and to take slaves, an action that mirrors human behaviors. Even
humans closest relatives, the chimpanzee, will often raid and injure other primates to annex new
territories. Although these measures can be regarded as warlike, there is no granted exact
definition of war, and there is a myriad of casus belli for the escalation of a conflict. Broadly
speaking, in a general term, war is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story is recounted in a nonlinear fashion, with Billy shifting into different periods of his life,
starting from the Battle of the Bulge and into different eras of Billy s life, both future, and past. The
climax of the story is when Billy witnessed the utter obliteration of Dresden during World War II
after the Nazis apprehend Billy and transported him to Dresden to work inside of a slaughterhouse.

focuses on the nature of war, which is the prompt addressed by this
What Company Has Become More Successful Than Other Chinese...
How GEELY was developed and created
GEELY which is based in Zhejiang is a famous Chinese car company. However, GEELY is
developing better and better. Hence the aim of this paper is to analyse GEELY and examine why
this particular company has become more successful than other Chinese car companies.

GEELY was founded on the 6th of November in 1986. However, GEELY was started to produce
fridges. In 1994, GEELY started motorcycle manufacturing. In 1997, GEELY entered the automobile
industry. This company always changes the marketings and sells areas. It is innovation and
creativity that helped the GEELY to sell more products, make a profit and become successful.
Effective management is behind the development of this company in comparison to others. (Geely,
2014). It has been started that Geely transform marketing and sales techniques to be successful and
this will be explored in this essay.

It depends on the marketing circumstance that GEELY company can choose what to sell and how.
There is no doubt that GEELY constantly changes their selling strategy, because it is a successful
one. Firstly, they design and make many economic cars and many cities of taxis that rise up the
income. However, as time passes, many Chinese car companies have started to produce economic
cars, GEELY has already began to make hybrid cars and electronic cars. Hence, it always leads to the
other car companies.( Geely, 2014)

Secondly, GEELY conduce the marketing plan very well. First of all, the the
Essay on Kurdistan
Kurdistan is a region that has existed in turmoil and is the never was country. The Kurds are the
fourth largest ethnic group of the Middle East, numbering between 20 and 25 million.
Approximately 15 million live in the regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria, an area they called
Kurdistan, yet they do not have a country of their own. Formal attempts to establish such a state
were crushed by the larger and more powerful countries in the region after both world wars. When
the Ottoman Empire collapsed after World War I, the Kurds were promised their own independent
nation under the Treaty of Sevres. In 1923 however, the treaty was broken allowing Turkey to
maintain its status and not allowing the Kurdishpeople to have a nation to call... Show more content

than half of whom live in Turkey, the rest in Iraq, Iran and other neighboring countries. Roughly, a

he wanted to put an end to Turkish colonialism and all forms of imperialist domination over

Turkey has been a key player against the PKK. Geography, politics and history have conspired to
render 30 million Kurds the largest stateless people in the Middle East. The Government of Turkey
has long denied the Kurdish population, located largely in the southeast, basic political, cultural, and
linguistic rights. The government of Turkey has in turn waged an intense campaign to suppress
PKK terrorism, targeting active PKK units as well as persons they believe support or sympathize
with the PKK. As part of its fight against the PKK, the Government forcibly displaced
noncombatants, failed to resolve extra judicial killings, tortured civilians, and abridged freedom of
expression. The Turkish government has also managed to burn over 4,000 villages forcing Kurds to
flee from their homeland. Finally, the Turkish government estimates that the conflict with the PKK
has exacted a high financial drain on the
Ortholog Lab Report
Molecular Biology Summative
Question 1:
Orthologs:

These three proteins have been selected as orthologs as they are all proteins from other species
which have very high sequence similarity to the sequence for Homo sapiens dysferlin used. These
sequences have 99%, 99% and 98% identity respectively, all with expectation values of 0.0, so are
very highly conserved between species, with the amino acids that are different generally being very
similar chemically and so will likely carry out the same function as in humans.
Paralogs:

These three proteins have been selected as paralogs for the given protein sequence. There is far
more variation between these compared with the orthologs, as can be seen by the differences in the
alignment scores. The first sequence, myoferlin, has a much lower identity, 56%, but still has a very
high sequence similarity with very few gaps. Myoferlin belongs to the dysferlin sub family which
the reference sequence is also a part of, with this alignment providing evidence for their evolutionary
closeness.
The second protein, fer 1 like protein 5, has 40% identity and a very high similarity to dysferlin. It is
therefore highly likely to be a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a high level of sequence homology between the four proteins at this c terminus end so
this area is highly conserved, however there is quite a bit of variation in regards to which areas
are different. Many of the different amino acids are similar in chemical properties, for example the
variation of P and A where both are neutral and hydrophobic, so it is likely that the protein retained
its function with the different amino acids. However some have more radical differences, for
instance several of the variations are between polar and hydrophobic amino acids. This would have
more of an effect on the proteins as it could cause a change in the structure of the protein and so
change the
Why Is The Upper Class Bad
In 1789, the French experienced a revolution by the peasants due to unfair tax practices. The
wealthiest 2% of the country was not getting taxed whatsoever and the other 98% of the country,
which was poor, had to support the great tax burden that had arisen due to immense spending by the
government, which was for the most part controlled completely by the top 2%.
Many aristocrats had to either flee the country or be beheaded. A similar event occurred in Russia in
1917, giving rise to a communist government that would reign for 74 years. During this time, all
wealth and property were owned by the government, causing class to vanish. Both of these events
caused great pain and suffering for the rich and wealthy, whom the peasants were mad at.
However, is the Upper Class actually bad? Why do the lower classes constantly strive to eliminate
them? One reason for this anger from the lower class is because the Upper Class has a lot of power
and influence over society despite their small numbers. Starting in 2011, a protest movement known

As Fitzgerald put it, they smash up things and creatures and retreat back into their money,
(Fitzgerald 191). Some do not pay their taxes. Others are involved in scandal and cheat money from
people. However, this does not apply to the majority of the wealthy, who are law abiding, productive
citizens. Many have built their fortunes up themselves and should not have what they have worked
so hard for be taken away from them. In short, the wealthy should be left alone.
Without the wealthy, , society would falter because the rich give a standard for us to strive for, get
things done with their broad executive power, and supply necessary capital to keep the economy
going. We need the rich to supply numerous jobs and create a system of advancement. In order to do
that, we should stop trying to tax them so much in order to redistribute wealth. The Upper Class is
unjustly attacked by the lower

admit that I was completely wrong to think those things. This class has offered me so much more
than I could have ever fathomed. I have a minor issue with

Describe the characteristics of the industry in which Intel operates. How is Intel positioned in the
industry? Intel operates in an industry, which is comprised of products involving high research and
development costs, continuous product improvement and new innovations. The companies in the
industry are having high economies of scale and are knowledge based. It helps both the service and

Further, keeping in view the strong competitive environment and fear of Clones by others, Intel is
constantly required to look for innovative products, which would need more funds for upfront
expenditures. In these situations, large cash positions would help Intel to avoid taking loans from
outside, and in turn interest costs, by using its own cash balances. A disadvantage of having large
cash position would be that cash has an opportunity cost. In other words, Intel could be forgoing
profitable investment opportunities. However looking at the data provided in the case, we can see
that the cost of holding cash was small as they yield high returns, above 170 bases points above
U.S treasury bills, through investing in securities rated above AA. Further, a cash rich company
runs the risk of being careless as there may be reduced pressure on the management team to
perform better. Observing Intel s growing performance over a period of time, it seems that currently
it has no such problem. However in future, it may become a cause of concern for the company.

Examples Of Sacrifice In King Lear
As we grow, we are raised with many values. Parents, work with one another to influence their
children with good manners. As a young adult, morals are extremely important in a person, they
identify the person you truly are, it will in addition make you value what you already have and who
you have by your side most importantly. The novel of King Lear, serves as a great example of what it
is to sacrificefor the love of one s familymembers. Some characters, for instance Cordelia,
especially serves as an example of what being brave, caring, and sincere truly is.
In the novel, the first act begins with King Lear wanting to distribute evenly his inheritance,
including his castle and all his money, to his three daughters but in order to decide what goes to
who, he has each girl tell him how much they love him and value him. The two older sisters,
Regan and Goneril both satisfy King Lear with their sweet, loving, but fake words, they knew that
they had to exaggerate how it is they feel towards him in order to receive part of his inheritance. On
the other hand, there was Cordelia, the youngest of them all and whom he describes as his favorite,

him, she was the only honest one of all the three sisters and ended up being the one who loved him

that she was the one that deserved to receive his love and inheritance since the beginning, but it was
