Signs Of Abusive Relationships
According to Bland (2012), there are always signs present when you are in an abusive
relationship. I was so surprised after reading this article that some of those same warning signs
they listed, were the same signs that I had been going through throughout our 12 years of
marriage. According to an article called Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse alcoholism stems from
many things. As discussed earlier it can be hereditary, it could be the group of friends that the
person is hanging with, or the emotional or mental health of the person that is drinking can be a
factor. I was trying so hard not to let my family or friends know what I was going through. I
pretended to be happy any time they were around. They began to see a slight change in me,
The Rhetorical Analysis Of Political Advertising In The...
The advertising industry relies upon multiple different techniques to target a specific audience, and
persuade them of their intended message or product. Basic analysis reviews rhetorical techniques
that play upon the pillars of ethos, logos, and pathos. On a deeper level, the advertisements analyzed
also share a common characteristic for analysis; They are all politically relevant in their subject
matter and allusions, relating to contemporary issues faced by viewers. While political
advertisements run the risk of alienating consumers who disagree with the stance taken or statement
made, they are ultimately worthwhile because the connection felt by a consumer who agrees with
the stance has more impactful results. A consumer who agrees with a political advertisement is
likely to respect that company for its values and develop loyalty.
Political advertisements content, in combination with its rhetorical techniques, are made to be more
persuasive and memorable when aligned with the right viewer audience. Perhaps the best place to
go for examining advertisements is the Super Bowl, one of the most highly watched television
programs yearly, and therefore the ideal time for companies to advertise. Budweiser, an American
beer company, is an advertising giant, annually producing blockbuster ads for each Super Bowl.
Typically, their ads feature cute golden retriever puppies or their emblem of a Clydesdale horse; yet
for the 2017 Super Bowl the company sprung for a more complex and
Growing Up Essays
What does it mean to grow up? Does it mean washing your car, paying your bills, getting a job?
Does it mean getting married, having kids, and sprouting gray hair? Is it necessary? Is everyone
capable of it? Is it going to be hard and will it be worth the effort? All of these questions are
probably what made Peter Pan decide to never leave Neverland. Growing up means a lot of
different things to many different people. If we look at the words growing up , we simply think of
the physical aspect of ageing, growing tall and wide. But for most people, growing up means
something deeper involving a change in the approach that an individual has to life and the actions
that are taken with it. In this essay, we will look at why people have... Show more content on

They can t just be told. Mistakes are made and we are held accountable. Such mistakes could
include simple things when we are young like hitting your younger sibling, or they could be as
adults like not paying your bills. Sometimes, we have to make the mistake in order to be able to
correct it. We look at the mistake we made, for example, cheating on a test. We are pleased with
the score. However, we see that we did not receive the grade that was deserved. The other students
all put in long hours of studying and in turn earned their good grades. When something like this
happens an immature person would not think much of it and move on, but a person who has
grown spiritually into a person with morals will not feel comfortable with this result, and
probably not do it again. That is one form of growing up. It is important to feel responsibility for
the actions that have been taken. The next step is reacting in a productive way to that
responsibility. In order to assume responsibility, we have to have a sense of right and wrong
which is only naturally learned by living life. When responsibility is accepted, we have begun to
see the truth and reality of our situation, as Peck describes. Dedication to truth is heavily involved
with the concept of accepting responsibility because for people to see blame in themselves, they
have to have a clear plane of reality that shows the necessity of a solution from them. The eyes have

Risk Management For Construction Projects
The overall aim of this study report is to let everyone know what risk management is, realize the
procedure of risk management in construction project and have a deeper study on the application of
risk management during construction period, therefore, a better project output and better value for
both clients and constructors. There are two objectives of this study: 1. To assess the most major
and common risks which cause bad effect on construction period. 2. To figure out reasonable
solutions. On the basis of the aim and the objectives, research questions have been formulated. 1.
What is the process of risk management? 2. How to apply riskmanagement in construction projects?
3. What risks are there in construction projects? 4. How risks... Show more content on

Surveys of various projects under different stage of progress through reports and interaction with
teams associated with project shall be used to collect information. Initial assessment identifies about
twenty major risk factors likely to occurrence in majority of construction projects. This project
proceeds further its study into the likely impacts of the risk factors on the project objectives. Risk
management may be described as a systematic way of looking at areas of risk and consciously
determining how each should be treated. It is a management tool that aims at identifying sources of
risk and uncertainty, determining their impact, and developing appropriate management responses.
A systematic process of risk management has been divided into risk classification, risk identification,
risk analysis and risk response, where risk response has been further divided into four actions, i.e.
retention, reduction, transfer and avoidance. An effective risk management method can help to
understand not only what kinds of risks are faced, but also how to manage these risks in different
phases of a project. Owing to its increasing importance, risk management has been recognized as a
necessity in most industries today, and a set of techniques have been developed to control the
influences brought by potential risks compared with many other industries, the construction industry
is subject to more risks due to the unique
Metamorphosis And The Stranger
The existence and purpose of human live has always posed a question for society. To answer this
question, philosophers ponder Existentialism. Existentialism is the philosophy that humans exist for
no true purpose and that each individual changes essence in his or her lifetime by finding meaning
in life through freewill, choice, and personal responsibility without certain knowledge of right and
wrong. This theory gained popularity in the mid 1900s after WWII caused many people to lose hope
in an ordered world and accept that no cosmic justice exists. According to this theory, no absolute
rules govern humans lives. This theory appears throughout literature and offers a grim perspective
on human existence. The Metamorphosis, written by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, Meursault cannot find a solid place in society. He lives alone due to the death of his
mother. Society cannot accept the manner in which Meursault addresses his mother s death. Since
he thinks that Maman died today. Or yesterday maybe, [he doesn t] know (Camus 3), society
believes that he does not care that his mother dies. Everyone judges him because he does not relate to
the rest of the people. Meursault receives immense criticism at his trial concerning his murdering
another man. At his trial, Meursault can feel how much all these people [the jury] hated (Camus 90)
him. The jury does not commend him or even regard him with understanding about his mother s
death. Some people react to death without actually reacting to it; Meursault subconsciously chooses
to do so but receives condemnation. Both characters experience isolation from society.
The characters also think illogically without true reasoning. When Gregor transforms into a large
beetle, his first thought is not how to fix his situation. Rather, he thinks to himself, How about if I
sleep a little bit longer and forget all this nonsense (Kafka 7). He does not search for a solution or
ask for help but finds sleeping an appropriate response. Later, he continues by concluding that his
bug state is a result of getting up early all the time (Kafka 7) because it makes you stupid (Kafka
7). While not sleeping enough surely does cause people to become tired and the
Reflection Of Peter Pan
The book, Peter Pan, is the most famous work of Scottish novelist and playwright, Sir James
Matthew Barrie. He first staged the story of Peter Pan in 1904 into the form of a play and
subsequently published a following novel in 1911. It is an endearing and alluring book about an
eccentric and fanciful little boy who wouldn t grow up. The story is set in a place called, the
Neverland, where Captain Hookis Captain of the Jolly Roger, Tiger Lily is the Princess of the
Indians, Tinker Bellis a fairy, and magical creatures that lie deep within the exotic locale. The book
focuses on his adventures and escapades with Wendy and her younger brothers, John and Michael.
The novel begins with highlighting the reality that all children except one, grow up (Barrie 1).
The journey begins when Peter Pan sets foot into the Darling s nursery and accomplishes to
convince Wendy to fly to Neverland with her brothers to tell the lost boys stories. Tinker Bell

She is the eldest child and was every inch a woman, though there were not very many inches (25).
Though she hoped she would avoid growing up by going to Neverland but the exact opposite
happened. In the story, Peter manages to convince Wendy to go to Neverland, only if she could
take her younger brothers, John and Michael as well, to take on the role of a mother to the lost
boys, to tell them bedtime stories and such things a mother should do. When they ask her to be
their mother, she responds ought I?... Of course it s frightfully fascinating, but you see I am only a
little girl. I have no real experience (66). She takes on the role innately by having pretend meal
times, tucking them to bed, sewing them pockets, and telling them stories. Wendy s character is
dynamic since at first she wanted to avoid the responsibility of growing up but towards the end, she
realizes and decides she wants to grow
Visual Exploration Of Video Games
Through the course of the English 1102 Folklore In Video Games class, I not only gained
exposure to the analytic exploration of video games, but developed as a reader, writer, and
presenter. While playing video games in an English class was a refreshingly different experience,
learning how to analyze these games and showcase my knowledge through multimodal projects and
presentations were the major takeaways from this course. Additionally, the included artifacts
emphasized both individual responsibility and teamwork. As a result I was able to become a
competent individual worker as well as a responsible collaborator. The multimodal nature of the
artifacts developed my existing skills and brought me out of my comfort zone of traditional... Show

The peer review process was critical towards the improvement of my work. For the first artifact,
which was the standard essay, I drafted the essay and received feedback on my thesis via email
from my professor Dr. Addcox as well as my roommate. The changes suggested to me clarified my
paper and strengthened my argument. It was in my second artifact however that I realized the
importance of getting an outside opinion on my work. For this assignment I had to create a new
storyline for a video game we played in class. The storyline we created had to be a branching
narrative and under the pressure of developing my own storyline my storyline was not a proper
branching narrative. After developing my first draft, I had a collaborative conference with my
professor (Dr. Addcox), where I received feedback which helped me incorporate a branching
narrative structure into my idea. I then had a comprehensive peer review session with a classmate,
which allowed me to refine my storyline and improve upon details.
The first two artifacts that were individually completed taught me how to work with discipline
over a period of time, something that I had not often done in high school. For the first assignment
a blog post based on a short reading had to be converted into a polished essay. While this seemed
like a simple task, I had to re read the short story to develop a purposeful thesis and had to add
